So, what do you think about this camera? Is it good for a beginner looking to get into more photography? What lenses should I get with it if I do grab one? I have a super good deal on one from a friend who is looking to upgrade so do you think I should jump on it?
I would suggest them as a beginner camera. I have one up for sale a few posts below. I would stick with nikon if you want to use a lower end dslr camera. When you want to upgrade definitely go canon, just the low end canons feel like toys. A good lens to start out on is the 18-55 lens, also the 50mm is a really good lens to learn how to focus on things more.
I love my d50. I don't consider myself a beginner but I'm no where near an expert. I'm self taught and this is the second camera I've had. Once you get to know it you can get some excellent shots. I have the 18-55 and a 70-300. I like them both but I still want a static 50 and a fisheye.
it's a great camera. not only for getting started but to progress as well. not that expensive either. I got mine with a 18-55 and a 55-200 lense for about 750$ new. nikon has some great lenses to upgrade to.
