Inline skaters have more skill than skiers

Well......
I think inline skating is where the future of skiing is going. If you look youtube at the stuff the inline skaters are doing today the tricks are far more complex and technical then any of the ski tricks. and they also look waaaaaay more steezy. Also in the pipe inliners are doing way better stuff then skiiers... they have been doing double flatspins for ages also this guy been doing backflip to 360 to backflip in one jump. then there is the rails.... chris haffy does switch 630's onto handrails and then there is all the compicated grinds which you need to be very skilled to be able to do. Some pro inliners skied for a week and were doin cab 7s and 9s over 60ft+ tables. and when all guys hate on inliners for having no steeze look up chris haffey or brian aragon on youtube. i think overall pro inliners have a lot more skill then pro skiers.

Skates also weigh nothing compared to skis, so spinning is much easier. Also, skiing isn't all about what you can do in the park. Lets see how a skater does in the real backcountry; because that is the hardest part of our sport. So I think your wrong.

Alright, tell ya what, i'll try to address your point without any hate. While they are very similar sports and i respect both you really can't compare them in the manner you are. Obviously pro bladers are gonna be able to complete more technical tricks because its plain physics, skates tend to lighter than ski boots, then you gotta add the fact that skis have these big ass sticks attached to their big ass boots. Yes, bladers will be able to do well in the park very quickly, its the same balance on rails and similar feel in the air. But they will not be able to ride back country like a real skier at all, which many feel is the most difficult aspect of our sport. In terms of stye, well thats just a matter of opinion, some will prefer skaters and some skiers, so please don't dis skiing in with a comparison that really is valid, you stupid fuck....ah shit i hated sorry man

those skaters you were talking about picking skiing up real quick were ok in the air and on rail, but they looked fucking terrible getting between the jumps and landing. you can't really call it skiing. to be a skier you have to be able to ski the whole mountain well, not just be able to throw some tricks in the air or slide a rail

with the tricks that are comparable between rollerbladers and skiers the rollerblaer do do more technichal one and in a lot of cases with more style. and some of the bladers that have gangsta steeze actually have the right, cos they were brought up in ghettos and were actually involved in gangs. rollerblading isn't better that skiing, in comparable places it is more technichal.
and most of the peple on ths thread are in denial.

Honestly I do think inlining is more technical but in a stupid hesh way, and I never want sking to become that gay. The problem with inlining is that everyone who does these "switch 630's" onto rails looks so fucking hesh. Inlining will always and forever prevail when it comes to technicality but when you're looking at the steeze factor, skiing fucks it in the ass.

nothing inliners do ever seems as steezy to me as tricks on skis...it always looks somewhat hucked and forced and none of them have that super lay back style that i find so steezy among some of the best skiers...bladers just lack that flow and smoothness and they cant understand to keep their fucking arms down!!

Second... wow, inline and skiing are completely different. It's soooo much easier to do rail tricks on skates, especially because they don't weigh anything. Yes, the can do 630 onto rails, but who cares? its not possible to compare that because that's pretty uch impossible on skis.

Locking onto rails is way easier on skates too.. otherwise how is this possible:

your argument is dub because you are comparing two completely different sports. And the "steeze" argument isn't working either. there aren't many skaters that look really good while skating.

wow people are pretty closed minded about roller blading. I think it's sick as hell and while it's kinda like comparing apples and oranges blading is definitely way more intense and higher risk than skiing I'd say.

there are shitloads.
just cos bladers don't obses over keeping there hands by there sides it doesn't make them less steezy, they are doing what come naturally, and that is style, thier own style.

if you want layed back style search for jeff stockwell or jc rowe.
if you want tech search for murda, montre livingston, brian aragon or ian mcleod
if you want to see some thing you don't see a lot of in skiing- creativity- search for oli short or chris farmer.

pretty much every argument against blading has been invalid on this thread, i'm not saying i agree with the title, yeah there are reasons skiiers can't 630 onto hand rails but doing it does not mean the peson who can isn't stylish. haffey is definetly stylish. so is aragon and he did a 810 out of a hand rail.

Oh yeah sure, inline skating is the future of skiing..... Just last week I loaded the snowmobile went 1500 vert above treeline, strapped on the beacon and did some backcountry fruitbooting. It was way sicker than skiing! Skiing has been around for over 600 years, but this new inline thing is going to replace it, its the future......................

Blades are also light, skis however, are heavy, meaning tricks will obviously look different on blades than on skis. This thread is stupid, skiing and blading are completely different, this is just like comparing skiing to mtb or skiing to skateboarding...your obviously below the age of 10 and have no idea about skiing.

First off, this discussion is moderately ridiculous, but I'll respond anyway.  I'm 27 and have been skating and skiing for about 15 years.  One thing I will acknowledge is that inlining has had some influence on modern day freestyle skiing.  I believe skiboards were developed and had a brief surge in popularity due to the parallel popularity of inlining. (say what you want).   Sure there were people making homemade twin tips way back in the day.  But you didn't really see the types of tech tricks currently out now, till after skiboarding became an "extreme" sport.  I'm not going to lie.  I picked up a pair of Bigfoot's as soon as I saw them, and after a year I bought a pair of Line Jedi's.  Ski's just weren't built in a way that made sense for the types of tricks that we were trying emulate on the mountain.  Eventually, Salomon came out with the 1080 and things changed(for the better I believe).  However, you can't deny that inlining had a huge influence on the current state of free skiing.  While they share some similarities both sports are completely different and you cant expect one to move in the direction of another.  I wish I could do certain moves on my skates that I can do on my skis, and vice versa but I can't and you just have to accept it for what it is.
