Uploading footage

i have a camera that records on dv tapes. i dont have any of the cables for this camera so if i put the dv tape in another camera can i use that to upload?

not quite following, but what I am getting at is that you want to put your tape into another camera to upload..if so then yes you can do that but only if you have the cables

and if you have the cables, they should also work on your other camera as they are going to be either usb or firewire, which almost all dv cameras have

the cam i have is shitty. no cables and its outta batts and i dont have the power cable cuz my friend has it. my other friends cam however has all necessary cables and batteries, so i figure its my best option. just wanted to know if itd work
