Replying to Bye Tahoe
The last six seasons in Tahoe have been amazing. We all know the snow, terrain and SUN make things inherently amazing here. It's the people who really make this place though. Any given day you can meet up w/ a ton of others just 'shredding.' You don't even have to know anyone - but that doesn't last long. I've never been any place where people are sooo chill and friendly. You don't have to be a great skier to get along w/ locals. It's changed the way I ski forever. So thanks to all of you who I've ridden w/ over the last few seasons. I've become such a better skier and amazed myself at what I can do w/ the right kind of mind set. Every conceivable condition and situation - I enjoyed it all.
Thanks to everyone who spend ridiculous hours and effort to make Tahoe the North American ski region w/ the most variety and best parks. You can pick what you want to do for any day.
Get rowdy big-mountain style at Kirkwood, get your ass whooped BC style w/ Alpine's open out-of-bounds policy and perfect jumps from Jonahs, the most creative parks at Boreal, the in-bounds terrain and BEST ski experience at Squaw, Springs at SSS at Heavenly and top-notch park scene at Northstar. All together - it makes Tahoe a tough place to leave.
In a professional sense, the resort staff here are among the best to work with. Short notice and big events - everyone comes through. Profiling the athletes and putting stories together was the most fun of anywhere. It'll be a lesson to learn how things operate elsewhere.
Well, the moving truck is packed and classes start Tuesday for me near Portland. I hope I see all of you at Hood this summer and in the coming seasons. Hit me up here on NS when you're in town.
Thanks for the great time everyone!
Jason
