How to set up a handrail

K so. There's a super dope rail at my school, a perfect 15-20ft. DFD with plenty of run-out and everything, but its not like exposed steel, its painted. What I'm wondering is, do you have to chip off the paint and file the kinks and stuff to set up a rail jib or does it not matter?

I'm not good enough to hit it yet but my goal is to hit it by the end of Gr. 12, (in Gr.9 right now) and I'd really appreciate it if I could get a little background on jib set up and prepairing handrails. I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow but I'd appreciate it if anyone with experience with this kind of stuff can give me tips on this?

nvm NOT 15 feet

like 25-30 steps so um 25-30 feet?

Flat cheesewedge on, size depending on the steepness. And there's a gigantic difference between a 15 ft rail and a 30 stair rail.

you don't need to take the paint off or file the kinks, just make sure your edges are dull and you'll be fine

why don't you just like
hit it in a month or something
4 years is a long time to wait to completely fuck up

what i would do is really work on urban rails at your hill next year and hit it next year. that means you will get that first hit out of the way, then you can work up from there.

dont need to take the paint off or file the kinks just make sure your edges are dull

I said BY Grade 12, that could be anywhere from tomorrow to next year to the day i graduate aka when I feel comfortable

try making a jump onto it at the flat, so you just slide the last down portion of the rail. try that to start and as you get more comfortable hit the whole thing

ya in look it up the 70 foot down rail at breck....well i slid about 50ft of it ..... its hard to stay on really long down rails and that was my first urban EVER so i reccomend not hitting a dfd first do a really small down rail
