Soo, a chair broke at a mountain near me

im not exactly sure what happened, but i know there was like a 10 year old girl on the chair and  she ended up falling on her head. and the chair is FUCKED.
its at west mountain in queensbury, ny. about 850 vertical feet, 3 real lifts, "18" trails, but theirs realll only like 8-10

I didn't need to see that. There are some chairs that already scare the hell out of me.

Chair 8 in Telluride. I rode it down once and nearly shit myself. I actually had to hang on to avoid a 60 foot plunge.

I hope that girl's okay though.

hmm. looks like a really old lift. at least it wasn't very high off the ground. (assuming that is where it broke.)

a few years ago at my old mountain, my rents were on like the last chair of the day and the liftie bitch fucked up and the chair was old, so the chair snapped right off the cable and plummeted like 20ft to the ground. my mom ended up breaking her leg and shattering her risk which is now a life injury. my dad only ended up cutting his elbow which is really fortunate, scary shit.

alright heres the story.. (this is my mountain)
so a girl gets on the lift and it starts swaying back and forth and slams into the pole
it breaks and the girl tryed to grab ahold of it but she fell back landing on her neck, i think she is paralized im not totally sure, but it was my friends sisters friends sister. yeah crazy, thank god their getting a high speed triple for next year

back in the day when i was learning to ski i was like3 ishi ahd to jump/have my dad pull me up to get on.  and one time it didnt get coordinated so i didnt make it on and i ended up hanging off the chair and some guy had to catch me when i dropped off of it.

haha yeah it is. thats where i learned to ski.

remember those two guys that got left on the lift there probably about 10 years ago? they sat there overnight in the freezing cold until someone found them in the morning. scary

bahaha yeah i hung on for like 20 feet like a trooper and then fell it sucked but i was okay and got on another lift. thats where i learned to ski.

ya man that shits sketch especially brockton feels like your sitting on plywood

but I think Midway and sky chair on Cypress is pretty close too, its just thin metal pipes and your sitting on strips of plastic in between.

well i mean the girl was swinging on the chairlift, no wonder it broke. i'm sure it was prolly a little amiss but damn, and i've been on creaky ass chairlifts i swear are just going to drop but fuckkkkkkk.

haha omg freakin west! its host to some of the sketchiest skiing/skiiers/extreme gapers of the east. this one guy sitting in the chair in front of me fell asleep and he kept sleeping all the way around the end station. then he realized wtf was going on and spazzed out and jumped out and he almost missed the net. he smashed his face on the board that supports the net tho and he got fucked up. broken face. omg so many other stories but i really dont feel like typing forever.

main point: this event shows how badass west is! and maybe theyll get a new lift now. that would be sick.

Scariest lift I've ever been on was the old gondola at gore. Going over that valley with 50mph winds in a small cube was not fun.
