I did on with my 6th grade class. All I remember was throwing tic tacs at each other all night. I think it was good though.

I have, i went backpacking in Montana. My parents made me do it, maybe they have fun ones, but the one i did sucked ass. There were these three black girls on it from Jamaica-Queens, who got some kind of scholarship and were on it, and they they fucking did was complain. They couldn't carry the whole weight of their backpacks either, so we had to split their shit up and i ended up carrying a ridiculously heavy backpack because i was the only one on the trip in semi-decent shape. When it was over, i guess i was glad i did it, but i would advise you to avoid Outward Bound backpacking trips.

i did a mountaineering program in British Columbia a while back. it was fucking rad. the people were cool (no complainers, etc), the instructors, if you will, were super damn cool and knew their shit. One of whom was this old guy who summited K2 and Annapurna (redic) and was overall a climbing fiend. Needless to say, I learned a ton every day, and we really got to do some cool shit that really got you workin. As a bonus, everyday was sunny, save one! Worth every penny. Have used the skills and such on numerous mountaineering ventures and stuff.

I absoulutely HATE backpacking, so yeah..
But the rafting and climbing ones are pretty awesome, you get to go places that you wouldnt otherwise get too.
One thing to know is, when parents force a kid to do it, those are the kids who usually have a sucky time. They arent necessarily the complainers-thats a personality thing- BUT it has to be something that you yourself are somewhat intersted in doing- a positive attitude is a must for a good time!
