Quick question about volunteering at a hospital. I want to volunteer at the one in my town, they have 4 categories, the one I fall into is the 'college' one or whatever. They have an interview session in two weeks to see candidates for their program. Do you think they will drug test there? I've only smoked twice in like the last 2-3 weeks, and the drug test is in 2 weeks so I should be fine if I exercise and drink a lot of water and shit, but I just want to be sure. So do you think they will do a quick piss test at this interview process or anything?
I have friends who volunteer and work at hospitals. In Alberta they do not do drug testing for volunteers as far as I know, but it may be different for other provinces or countries. In terms of health screening, I know they do TB tests at senior care centers and hospitals sometimes, to make sure you wont accidentally pass something on to patients. Don't sweat it too much, they just want to make sure that their patients will be safe, it also depends what part of the hospital you volunteer in as well as what you are doing i.e. volunteering in the gift shop as opposed to reading to children or what not.
Ya. Hopefully with my experience I will have more hands on stuff and be more involved with patients than like coffee or gift shop stuff. Anyway, I had to fill out a huge application just for volunteer work, and they had this at the bottom:
"
I hereby give my consent for Bronson, through an authorized testing service of its choice, to collect blood, urine, hair or saliva samples, or other fluid or tissue samples from me and to conduct any other necessary medical tests to determine the presence of alcohol, drugs or controlled substances, and I hereby release Bronson from any liability arising out of such tests or results. Further, I give my consent for the release of the test results and other relevant medical information to authorized Bronson management for appropriate review. I understand that in order to be considered for employment by Bronson, I must be drug and alcohol free, as confirmed by such testing. If I am accepted for employment by Bronson, I hereby consent to be tested in the above manner during my employment when, in Bronson's judgment, such testing is appropriate, and I acknowledge that remaining free of illegal or unauthorized drug use is a condition of my employment."
So looks like a drug test is coming up in 2 weeks, what fun.
