Just found this on ttora, if you've got a 95-2000 tacoma with serious frame rust it would do ya a great service to read this thread and look at the included pdfs that are linked in there.
Apparently toyota is not going as far as a recall but their sending letters out. If your truck has major frame rust take it to a dealer for inspection of your frame, they will possibly try to fix OR it sounds like in a lot of cases they will buy back the truck for 1.5x kbb excellent condition value of the truck(the good retail price too not the trade in value). A lot of guys in that thread are already in the buy back process.
You can keep your aftermarket shit too, also take in more than one truck if you have em. No need to be first owner or even second or third, as long as you bought the truck over a month ago(before the letters and word got out)you're good to go.
Seems like awesome customer service to me, even though the cheap ass american steel shouldn't have been used in the first place. I snapped two leaf springs aleady before I beefed up back there soooooo how bout a leaf recall???? Hey I'll take whatever I can get, I'm gonna check out my frame today and see if it's worth takin in.
