Why do we ski? I personally like this answer:
"The more improbable the situation and the greater the demands made on the person, the more sweetly the blood flows later in release from all that tension. The possibility of danger serves merely to sharpen his awareness and control. And perhaps this is the rationale of all risky sports: You deliberately raise the ante of effort and concentration in order, as it were, to clear your mind of trivialities. It's a small scale model for living, but with a difference: Unlike your routine life, were mistakes can usually be recouped and some kind of compromise patched up, your actions, for however brief a period, are deadly serious." - A. Alvarez
Whats your reason?

Because its fun. Its always fun. From skiing in -20 on a 800ft hill to skiing fresh powder and everything in between. I use fun for a lack of a better word, but I'm sure someones gonna nail it on the head with some long paragraphs.

"You put on your boots, click into
your bindings, dust the snow off
your skis, and head out for the
chair, and it doesn't matter
that you failed a test, didn't
get the girl, or that your life is
on a one way trip down the shitter,
your world is right for the next
couple of hours."
that quote pretty much sums it up for me.
