TGR is your best bet. There are maybe 10 people on this site who know what AT means or what skins are.

^^he's right. this forum is all about park skis and puffy jackets. post a thread in tech talk in tgr about your size/weight, how much and where you ski, and if you'll use it for like randonee races or simple touring. i and many others will help you out over there
also. do not post in ski/snowboard w/ a gear question and do not say anything stupid (people over there will rip you a new asshole)

Your really limiting yourself to keep under $400. When bindings cost $300 and skis generally $500+ and skins $100 you'll have a hard time getting a full package for that price. That said, there have been a few TGR guys selling "starter kit" type deals that might be good for you. Your other option is to just get bindings and skins and mount on a pair of skis you already own. You can tour on almost any ski, though weight can be an issue for long trips.

Yeah if you're looking for a whole AT setup, $400 is pretty damn cheap. Maybe you'd be able to find some old pocket rockets, diamir explorers and skins for around there, but if you want newer/better stuff, think about spending $500+ for sure.

you could just pick up FLOs trekkers for $50 then get some used skins..youll be set.

just be patient w/ everything. they're selling some rossi powderbirds on ebay w/ dynafits but they're pretty short

The seth is a sick ski if u want a sick at binding for the future look into Naxo or the Marker Duke both great bindings
