so throughout  the election ive noticed that barack obama gets an advantage out of being black. i mean it seems like if u criticize the guy u sound like a racist. i found this interview though where he uses the phrase "typical white person" http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/03/barack-obama-my-grandmother-is-typical.html. wtf barack. u cant just go around grouping white people together as being all the same, cuz that sounds pretty damn racist to me. seriously how does he get away with this shit? u bet if mccain used the phrase "typical black person" the leberal-biased media would be all over it and his campaign would literraly be over in a matter of a day. but obama calls his grandma a "typical white person" and i goes completely unnoticed. yeah i guess all us white people are the same in obama's eyes. what a douche, im so fucking tired of him playing the race card, just talk about how ur gonna help the country instead of stereotyping groups of people and making urself seem like a victim cuz of ur skin color. i really hope mccain wins even though i dont agree with him on a lot of shit either

- what military equipment does the US buy from other countries u think they run around with guns that are Made in China? i'm pretty sure the American government only gives out contracts to American factories and corporations for the military supplies needed for their army, since the army is the most technologically advanced in the world why would they go to third world and developing countries to purchase their equipment that just makes no sense.

-and it coming back in other ways?


i guess they were banking on oil revenues but that never really panned out and their sinking in way more money and none of the oil rigs in iraq are generating any profit, which may be a bit of a factor for the rise in gasoline but i'm no expert.

but enlighten me in what other ways it might be coming back to them

Alot of that is due to inflation and poor investing. One of the leading causes for an increase in food prices is because the price of wheat/grains and corn has gone up so much. This is mostly due to the demand of ethanol coupled with poor harvests in 2007. As for outsourcing and buying shit from other countries, that may look like it hurts us, but in reality there is positives to it too. It leaves companies with more money and resources to spend towards innovation and increasing their profits, all which benefits our economy. I can't explain it all, but you should consider reading "The World is Flat" by Friedmann. It's a pretty entertaining book. It doesn't exactly go into the war, but it has alot to do with how things changed after 9/11, what globalization is doing around the world right now, so on and so forth.

what military equipment do we buy from other countries. Take a look at the contract the USAF just signed. We bought millions in tankers from Airbus, a European country, rather than Boeing.

Aright so Boeing had the contract(well not in their hands but in their grasps) in the beginning and then in typical American fashion some shady deals start going down and people start feeling the pain:

airbus is making US planes. they gave the best price wise and do offer a superior plane. also these planes are being made in america, alabama i believe.

...EXCUSE ME? A terrible person? No. A black person in America? Yes. Most black people feel that kind of rage towards white people, and thats how black people talk when whites are not around. You need to open your eyes and see how black people get treated every day in the USA and you need to realize that. That claim is like calling every black person in America a terrible person.

well black people don't control everything in this world...whites do, and from going to school in oakland for years, I witnessed it everyday. Why do you think ghettos all accross the country are filled with black people? because Blacks have control? nooooo wayyy.

I don't think you understand how hard it is for a whole entire race to come back from over 300 years of slavery. Do you have black friends? I am just wondering, because once you talk to a black dude about this stuff, then you will truly understand. It's not even the rage towards white people that really makes it bad, but the rage black people get from being mistreated by white people. White people subconsciously mistreat black people every single day and it's fucked up. In my experience, I have realized that negativity leads to more negativity that is indirectly related to the first source of negativity.

Before black people change their attitude toward whites, white people need to realize and understand what the experience of a black man is. Once whites figure that out, then white people have earned black respect.

Don't give me this stubborn attitude shit where black people should all of a sudden respect white people after being enslaved by whites for 300 years No that's not how it works buddy.

word the problem is so many white people think that the blacks need to "get over slavery". Do you tell the Jews they need to get over the holocaust. shit was messed up and they have every right to be pissed about it today.

add to that what he said, the fact that whites still both subconsciously and consciously oppress blacks today and its still white folk that are in the wrong.

all that being said you cannot hold obama responsible regardless, it was his pastor who said it, not him. if you watch obamas extraordinarily well spoken speech on race in america you will hear that yes, he realized his pastor had these views, but obama himself did not agree with them, much like im sure you do not agree with all the views of your pastor, rabbi, priest etc

They shouldnt feel degrated anymore. Slavery has been over for a while now and its not like it was this generation that had enslaved them, so i dont see why they should hold it against white people today.....

But back to oboma, he just plays the race card way way wayyyy too much and its pathetic cuz its totaly irrelavent to him becoming the president. Yeah if he becomes president then he will be the first black president but there is no way in hell people should look at it black and white, literaly, and thats what he is trying to make people do.

The funny thing is that his pastor is right about alot of that shit. We did nuke Japan. No, we didn't have to. Japan was trying to surrender, but we refused to accept anything other than an unconditional surrender. We had to test out our new nukes in a wartime setting, we'd spent so much money developing them. The idea that it saved millions of american troops is bullshit because at that point a treaty could have easily been reached.

Yes, the legal system is bias against blacks and sets them up. Yes, our country supports terrorism against other countries when it benefits us. The CIA trained Osama bin Laden to fight the Soviets with guerilla warfare aka terrorism, and look how thats come back to bite us.

I don't know about HIV being a biological weapon, but we do engineer biological weapons, so its possible. I do know that the treatments for HIV don't cure people and most of the time just make them sicker and more dependant on the drugs so that they have to keep spending money on them. There has been controversy that the drugs are what actually lead to the symptoms and that it hasn't been proven that the HIV virus actually causes AIDS.

Most of that is right, except the AIDs shit. That is so far off it's funny. You try designing something to kill a virus that mutates for every different person on the planet based off of their DNA.... And yes, HIV can cause AIDs. It doesn't always, and it can also go into recession, but HIV is theoretically a different virus for every person, making it incredible difficult to work with.

You my friend are sadly misinformed. Nuking Japan was pretty important. I don't know where you got the info that Japan was about to surrender, not only did it take 1 atomic bomb to get them to surrender, it took 2. The Japanese people followed the emperor to the death, the word surrender was not in their vocabulary. As the US took islands closer and closer to Japan, Japanese citizens on those islands were committing mass suicide, and many people thought this was a preview of what would happen if the US invaded Japan. The Japanese were teaching women aim rifles and teaching children to run under tanks with dynamite to blow them up, it was called the Japanese Civilian Defense Force. In battle the Japanese were willing to fight quite literally to the last man and even after the emperor told the Japanese people that they had to surrender when the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, there was a plot by a few of the top Japanese generals to overthrow the emperor and keep fighting. And the thing about HIV is so farfetched,cant believe you believe that bullshit. The pastor is not right about Japan and neither are you.

well his wife for example has played it by saying "this is the first time i am proud of this country." she basicaly said that becasue her husband has a chance of making it into the white house.. And all the time oboma just goes on about how hard it is as a black person in America, yada yada you get the point..

and as to not knowing what im talking about i have a pretty good idea since all i do is listin to talk radio pretty much all day when i am at work. So go ahead and point out why i am "wrong" once again and ill just sit back and laugh at whatever bullshit you have to write......

The only base you have is the assumtion that everything is cool with black people and white people in America and that is NOT the case at all. Don't refer to a whole race of people as "they", because that makes it sound that you want "them" different than us. Read the book Native Son by Richard Wright and you will understand what I'm talking about.

Honestly, go to a ghetto and open your eyes and then TRY to tell me that a whole race of people would put themselves in such a terrible situatioin on their own. Quit being a closed minded idiot and really take a look at whats going on.

in my defense, I can vote, and drive soon. I am turning 16 in two weeks. and I am no econ major--it's pretty much among the last things I've ever wanted to study.. but I'm taking it this summer as an elective. hah!

globviously a war can fuel the economy after a recession because the factories have to start producing arms again. however, like you said, the government has to pour money into those factories and spend more money training the soldiers. exactly how does the government receive money back from this? the answer is no. what will happen to government spending if they expand into iran? yep.
of course I am sure there are other factors contributing to this one.
I know things are screwed up there, and in some ways I would like to see an occupation, and in others I would like to see them get out. many people just see one side, like the inhumanity, and fail to see the problems there (and vice versa...) in my opinion, they're damned if they do, and they're damned if they don't.

but frankly, and back to the original topic, for those who want to see a sensible and peaceful resolution to the Iraq war, I doubt that McCain would be the best option. he does want to bomb the place; and he seems to consider war either as a joke, or as a good opportunity to form a 50s throwback boy band.

Listen to this guy, he knows what he's talking about. Every vote for Obama will actually raise the price of gas by 0.014 cents. If he wins the election, one gallon of gas will cost just over 7000 dollars.

They had a little piece on CNN today about how just from government funded programs like medicare and social security we are in debt 53 trillion dollars or something like that. Our nation economy is only worth 14 trillion dollars, and all of our tax money is going in to paying off the interest of our debt. Meaning none of our tax money is going towards funding anything our country actually needs. If that isn't a perpetuating recession leading towards depression than I don't know what is.

You are right, recessions usually are measured with a drop in real GDP. However during the 4th quarter of 2007 we had about a 4 percent growth in real GDP http://www.bea.gov/newsreleases/national/gdp/gdpnewsrelease.htm

Unemployment high? not at all, in February 2008, only 4.8% of the country was unemployed.

5 percent unemployment is nothing, you have to realize that this includes people who are frictionaly umeployed, or moving between jobs, just getting out of school, etc... That figure also includes structural unemployment which is the type of unemployment that exists when technology or consumer demand change and cause an industry to go under. One example of this would be the cassete tape industry in the 90s when CDs took over.

The value of our currency dropping isn't neccasarily dropping, as long as it doesn't drop to much it could help our economy rebound.

GDP is equal to C+G+I+X where c=consumption, g=government spending, i= gross investment, and x= net export (export-import)
So as the American dollar gets weaker relative to other currencies two things will happen. 1) We will begin exporting more items. If countries can import goods from the US due to our weaker dollar they will. This will cause us to become even closer to full employment and bring more factories back to the US. 2)We will import less items. This seems obvious if we are exporting more. If we are importing less then the will in fact hurt the economies of countries with stronger GDPs because there not exports will go down.
You see when you combine the effects of #1 and #2 our net exports will go up and boost our GDP

Even if we aren't in a 'technical' recession, the consumers aren't spending much money, there is a HUGE housing crisis, and the national debt is fucking ridiculous. There is so much money that people have 'promised electronically' we are in serious trouble. 1 in 20 americans have over $8000 in credit debt. People are afraid to spend money. I'm interested to see what the stats show for the first quarter of 2008. Even if we aren't technically in a recession, things aren't looking good.

I know this is kinda "beside the point" but i feel like it has to be said.

This run for president is a joke. More like who is the biggest celebrity will get to be pres. I think McCain would be the best for pres. Not saying he is good cause all of the candidates suck, period. Presidents main position is the Head chief or w/e of the army right? and obama AND Hillary are more for this PEACE thing. There is never not going to be war, war has been around forever and it will stay that way. So you have to have somebody in that position that knows what the fuck is going on when it comes to war. and that's McCain. Obama doesn't even solute our own American flag. WTF? You want to become president of our country but you wont even solute the flag? that's the dumbest shit Ive ever heard. No way should Obama or Clinton should get it. Only McCain or the US will go to hell.

so if your going to make a choice on to who should be president, It should be McCain.
