So I will be attending U of U in the fall and my parents want me to do the LEAP Program. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff? I dont really like the idea but im not sure
If you're looking to take a class that is like a high school class, then do it. Its probably the stupidest thing i did this year in school. If you can deal with it tho, it knocks out the everso worthless diversity credit they require for general education. I suggest not doing it, its a waste of time and you'll realize its stupid when you have to do dumb homework and shit that you don't do in any other college class. You basically read books and take quizes on them and then write paper on them.
BUT if you do take it, for god sakes don't take the service oriented one. I was told it was the "same thing" but i lost 5% on my final grade because i didnt go to some dumb spanish night school and sit there "helping" for service learning hours. Once again i highly suggest you take a better class, there are soooooo many better classes to take, especially as a freshman.
good call on that. i'm deferring a year and living in utah to get in state tuition and skiiiiiiii. didnt hear about the program but was just interested
You can get in-state tuition after one year of going to the U if you are no longer a tax deduction for your parents, and if you get a Utah Driver's liscense.
Is it easy to get to the mountain like solitude and snowbird
since I wont have a car I know there is good bus systems there but do they stop on campus?
DO NOT TAKE LEAP IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO. Everybody tries to make it seem like an awesome class and tells you that it is a great transition class from high school to college but it is not at all. It is the gayest shit ever. You have more work in that class than the majority of others and you have to read a bunch of gay ass books. I believe most engineering majors next year will have to take mandatory E-Leap next year which is what I took first semester. Its super gay and completely worthless. Bottom line, don't take it. It's not worth the credits.
