Basically I have a pair of volkl walls mounted with look px12 jibs at true centre for my 315mm boots.. but today the back piece of the bindings pulled out this is day 4 on them!.. i was wondering if there is anything i can do? i want the boot to stay at true centre if at all possible.. i was thinking that i could move the heelplate forward about 1cm and then slide the heelpiece back? is 1cm too close for new holes?

go to a shop and get them heli-coiled
best way by far, you dont have to drill any new holes or anything

also getting them waranteed will be a pain because i bought them online.. then got em mounted for free by my local shop.. so no1 is really responsible.. is helicoil definately better than moving the heel by 1cm and then sliding the heelpiece?

why are you turning down a new free pair of skis?
go thru "the trouble" of putting skis into a box and shipping them to volkl. you'll be glad you did when you open it back up and they are new.

both the heelpieces pulled out on my seths and i had them both heli-coiled. since then ive had no problems with them. so if you like where your ski is mounted then just have them heli-coiled but if you wanna try someplace new then remount. i would go with the heli-coil because if you remount then you will have 8 new holes on each ski as opposed to 4 fixed ones.

i don't think that the skis are faulty, it was probably a bad mount! but it was done for free so getting a remount or helicoils is my only option..

The PX heel has a huge range of adjustment. Remount the heel 2cm forward, it's fine. In fact, it'll be better than before bcause your mounting footprint will be 2cm shorter. Maybe even 3cm but I wouldn't risk it.

Sorry if that came off at hate, but i guess it was - sometimes you just have to help yourself.
Ring your shop - ask them for Volkl's phone number, then speak to them.

cheers dude thats awsome, but I bought them in the US, live in the UK and am currently in switzerland which does complicate things a bit! If i get a remount will that void my warranty claim cos i'm on a ski trip at the moment for 2 more weeks and would ideally like to patch them up for now..

Yeah that will complicate things.
I think to get warranty you would need to send them in as they are, and i'm not sure if the warranty applies internationally
So you would most likely have to send them back to the US factory if the dealer you bought them from is based there - add shipping to and from the factory (at your cost) and it may not be worth it.
I'd consider a remount a cm or so forward and then sliding the heeltrack back (depending how they were originally set up you should be able to adjust the heel 10+mm either way)
It's a tough call - not to mention that sending them in for warranty means you may not have skis for around 6 weeks
If you want to speak to the UK Distributor - it is Mastco Ltd. their number is +44 1539 621 762
And the Swiss distributor is PlanG GmbH, number: +41 55 412 8656
Maybe see what they say you should do about it..
