Im not saying this to be a dick, im saying it because its true.     Mount it where YOU want to, where YOU think it is giong to be best for YOU.  everyone is different in there riding and mounting, its YOUR preference.

This is my opinion on the topic.

Centre Mount is better for rails/ switch carving/ park in general. It makes the ski feel lighter and shorter underfoot, easier to spin, and better balanced on rails and in the air. This means there is an equal amount of ski infront of and in behind of you boot. However, you sacrifice your carving ability as you throw off the sidecut on non-symetrical skis.

Recommended Mount is generally better for carving, all mountain and riding in general. You can carve much better, but you lack the feel and benifits of a centre mounted ski in the park. The recommended mark on skis is usually around 5-7cm back of true centre.

Anywhere In Between is totally preference. You find this out by experimenting with wierd mounting spots (forward of centre anyone????) and seeing how much you like it. Ask other people too where they mount thier skis, and try to feed off of that. Everyone likes thier skis mounted in different spots. I mount 2cm forward of centre all the time, but I ski 150% park.

Now, here are some mouting positions you may concidor. I would personally recommend true centre or -1cm from true centre for you.

All Park- Centre

80% Park- Centre to -2cm

60% Park- -2cm to -3cm

40% Park- -2cm to -4cm

20% Park- -3cm to -5cm

No park- Recommended



You typically dont want a centre mounted ski in the pipe, usually something mounted -2cm back, but with all the switch tricks now a days, -1 or true centre sound like a good choice.

It also depends on what skis you have/ plan on getting as some skis ride better than others in various mounting positions.

core center is where the sidecut of your ski curvs in to make the skiniest part of your ski. so basicaly its the skiniest point on your ski (width wise), for an example: on a symetyical ski it will be the center because of the SYMETRICAL curve of the edges. i am probly that worst at explaining things, but i think its a simple enough concept
