i dont understand..rodeos are easier than any other flip (or real trick that i can think of, for that matter) on a diving board. its the most natural thing to do. are you talking about like a backflip with a spin? because thats not a rodeo
no lincoln loops are a straight sideflip, i always thought that a rodeo was a backflip with a spin, and that a 90-sideflip-90 was an underflip or an overflip depending on which way you flip
Ok let me end this now with some videos. Correct me if I'm wrong, but NS still doesn't have a trick database?
A RODEO is any spin with a lincoln loop (sideflip) thrown into the rotation. So a Rodeo 540 is simply a lincoln loop with a 180. But here's the thing. The point of a rodeo is that is a spin of 2 axis simultaneously. It's not like you throw a lincoln to late-180. And also with a rodeo you normally don't go 100% inverted. It's around 80%. Here is a decent example of a rodeo 540. Don't talk shit on the style, it's actually good for teaching purposes because it's easy to tell whats going on.
In theory, an UNDERFLIP is a Rodeo 540. But some people will say that and Underflip is overly exaggerated. So it's like 90 degree spin - 100% inverted lincoln loop (with the rotation of the flip going into the slope of the mountain) - 90 degree spin.
Here is a KANGAROO FLIP (aka double Rodeo 900). 90 degrees - double lincoln loop - 90 degrees.
The one the only Chris Turpin.
Now for those of you wondering what a SPIN WITH A FRONT OR BACK FLIP is called:
D-SPIN
This is a D-Spin 720. Notice how he starts the spin like normal and throws the front flip in the mix
anyway if you talking about a spinning backflip, just get really good at gainers, then either just go for it, or start by doing gainers to late 180 and work from there. i havent been able to do backflip 360s yet that havent been flip to late spinning, but they look/feel cool
guys rodeo's are off axis backs, a dspin is where you to a backflip or lincoln with a spin... and rodeo's are pretty hard on diving board, you have to do a laid out off axis gainer, d spin you just to a lincoln and spin it when your inverted
uhhh a d spin is a over corked cork... no front flips involved
and that d spin video was a misty which is pretty much exactly the same as a rodeo but forwards
but honestly im down for calling everything a flippy spinny thing
i never said rodeo's were spinning backflips jackass. a spinning lincoln and spinning back are the same thing. I said rodeo's are off to the side... like think about it this way, this is how i do rodeo's skiing, i go off carve drop my shoulder like 'lean back' by fat joe and sorta do a lincoln but im carved already so it doesnt go lincoln it goes off to the side. WHEN I do D spin I do a lincoln and put spin into it making it so I go inverted but am spinning at the same time.
haha wat are u calling me a jackass for, if my post came off mean i didnt mean it to. anyway you said "guys rodeo's are off axis backs"... and lots of people think rodeos are just spinning backflips so that plus that u said rodeos are hard on a diving board led me to beleive u had the wrong idea of what a rodeo is.
you guys are a bunch of fuckin idiots. a rodeo is a 90 then you throw your feet over your leading shoulder and spin. not a lincoln loop 180. you dumb bitch.
