Ok fellas, after getting my camera stolen last summer, im looking to upgrade to a prosumer level camera. I've pretty much narrowed it down to these two as im probably looking to buy used and not break the bank. i was wondering on peoples opinions on both, and maybe some pros/cons for each. would also be interested in the older GL1s and VX1000s if the price was right.
i use a 2100 (really similar to the 2000), and i love it. great in low light, great battery life, and really durable, which are the things sony is known for.
as for the gl2, I know a few people that have one, I dont really know much about it specifically but ive never heard them complain
bottom line, theyre both baller ass cameras, it would be a solid choice to go with either one.
yeah it just depends on what you want and your personal style. gl2's have a more soft film look, while vx2k's have a more intense picture with great vibrant colors, you can still get that soft film look with a vx, it will just have more vibrant colors. and vx2000's and especially the vx2100 does amazing in low light.
i have a vx2000 and my friend has a gl2, i really like my vx2000, although i just sold it for a DVX. it has really good colors and great low light as a lot of people have been saying. in comparison to the GL2 it has warmer colors. i'd go with the Vx2000, great starter camera too. check out skateperception.com for more info
