A quick word on blocking ads

I looked throughout site discussion but couldn't find anything on the subject. Is anyone noticing more and more "vote for my friend" threads in NSG? I can see if you've been a member for a long time and you or your friend/sibling/relative need to win the contest really bad and you turn to NS for help. But I'm seeing just more random threads asking NS to sway a vote. People who ahve barely been on this site for a month and they want NS to get their friend some money that he doesn't need. Am I just talking out of my ass and no one else sees a problem with this?
