My bad, it's six months, not six weeks, still not a very substantial amount. I highly doubt that the amount of extractable oil is anywhere near 16 billion barrels, since that report came from a bush appointee and during the first major battle to legalize drilling. Even if it was that much it's barely two years worth of oil if it all stays within the US, in which case it wouldn't do much to lower the price of any imported goods from outside of the country.
