What is wrong with my car?

i have a 1995 saab 9000 cs and it has been giving me problems. every time i go to accelerate it sputters and has absolutly no power. it seems like it is misfiring but im not sure. when it is idling it sounds really sketchy. it is not the air filter so i am thinking of just taking it to my mechanic, but it could be expensive and i would rather fix it by myself. sometimes when i hit 3000 rpm in 2nd gear it will just take off but then quickly starts fucking up again. i have no idea what is wrong and was hoping someone could help me.

Spark plugs/ignition system?

Are you having any smoke or anything when you're driving your car? How about a check engine light? Both of those can help diagnose a problem.
You might want to take a look at your fuel pump. If your fuel pump is starting to go that could be the cause of it, I'll try and think of some other reasons while I'm here at work.

Maybe sparkplug...but it sounds like your not getting a constant source of fuel to the engine. Check the fuel pump, same thing is going on with my girlfriends car.

Additionally, it could be an issue with your coilpack. That might be another thing to look into.

it could always just be bad fuel, which would be the best haha. but if not, check plugs. are you throwing a check engine light? if so which one? could be a bunch of things what kind of car is it?

he said it in his first sentence lol...
i had another thought, though I'm not sure if it would necessarily cause the 'spluttering' that you are experiencing. How many miles are on your car? If you are at 100k or more, you should find out if you've had your timing belt replaced.

Sounds like a arching spark plug. Usually this will trip your check engine light, but not always.

its in the fuel line somewhere. check everything that has to do with fuel. you're running lean.
also make sure the timing is fine, but it should be.

Check your fuel pump, sparkplug, or oil pump.

practically everybody is wrong i have a 1997 9000cs turbo and mine did the ecaxyt same thing when your driving it feels like your have a flat or your idleing at a super low rmp like 20 or something? i went to advanced auto parts and used the free checker, and mine misfired in cyl 1, i would DEF do this to check and i needed a new spark plug and now its fine, or i would regap your sparkplugs. and saabs dont have wires it connects directly

maybe if you hit up the digits of a local auto shop and imitate the sounds of the car they could probably help...best bet

i dont think the shuddering he is describing is due to loss of turbo. if he blew his turbo he would know, there would be no whistle noise from the engine and he would have no boost, but other than that the engine should run smoothly (i think at least)

ya autozone has this new machine where you say the car brand and model, then try o describe the noise with sound effects. its pretty scik that what i used on my car when it misfired

it might be your transmission, whenever youre having issues with acceleration or gears changing at weird times, its usually your transmission.

Sounds like your car has AIDS, I'm quite sorry to say.
Haha, but seriously like you said it might be a cylinder misfire. That would explain the lack of horsepower. How many cylinders does it have? I know that when I had a cylinder misfire in my Subaru (4 cylinders) I could tell immediately.
BUT my check engine light did turn on, not sure why yours didn't.

replace the plugs and wires, cause its cheap, and easy. if that doesnt fix it, it could be the fuel pump, or possibly dirty injectors.
