Replying to Too much speed on Flat Downs?
I was up at Sugarbush yesterday, and in their little rail park they had a flat-down rail I was trying, with a really short flat, and then a fairly steep down. Anyways, everytime I hit it, I'd go too fast over the flat, and accidentally gap the whole down, which was actually kind of fun once I got used to it and thought to land switch, instead of staying sideways. But, it was kind of annoying that I couldn't just slide the whole rail. I tried hitting it a little slower, but caught my back ski getting on and got all messed up. I'm a lot more comfortable hitting rails with a little more speed than neccesary, so I know I'll make it on okay. Does anyone have tips for popping harder so you can go slower on, or staying on the rail instead of gapping off of down-kinks? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, but I was getting kind of pissed that I couldn't slide it right, especially for such a dumb reason. Thanks, Ian
