Don't get me wrong, CB has a sick mountain and it's been going off all season, extremes are where it's at for sure. If the snow is whack though, don't bother stopping by the park to see how it is. That is a foregone conclusion, the park blows.
For example: The first hit, a crooked jump. I think those things are being built elsewhere and I'm sure they are fun, having options to hit it as a hip or just taking it straight on...however when the take-off is steeper than both landing areas...that's bad right? The pipe isn't bad this year, in fact, it's pretty decent.
Just shred the extremes, and skip the park. Even with DC on board to "overhaul" the thing, nothing will ever be done about it. They would have to get a new staff for things to change. I know that there is a lot of red tape from the resort ownership about the parks, but if someone on park crew or a groomer knew something about building a good jump....things would change dramatically.
i was there last year and the park was pretty good. i really liked the step up, it was perfect. but regardless, why bother posting about the park at cb. there is sooo much other terrain to ski even if there isnt fresh snow.
agreed, our pipe is really good this year. and the steeps are soooo epic... i have skied this mountain my entire life and have had more amazing days this year than i have had in all of my others COMBINED. Luckily we have other things than the park to ski, as Ryan pointed out.
