so this girl i know just moved to oregon and apparently at certain times of the year shrooms just grow behind this house. is it legit? im kinda scared of just taking shit out of the ground and munching on it especially when some will kill you. i think...i have no idea. i need feedback

Everyone else is a pussy, I'd do it dude. Don't be a dumbass about it, take pictures and post them up on Shroomery.org and get opinions from people who spend way too much of their lives tripping face before you eat them. If you get good feedback, there's like a .001% chance you're gonna get fucked... you have no idea, these people know their shit when it comes to hallucinogens.

I once ate shrooms out of my backyard....I was about 4 years old I guess and saw some growing and I ate them. I got really sick pretty fast, my parents freaked out and were calling poison control and shit. Eventually they gave me ipakak (or however its spelled, it makes you throw up) so I was puking my brains out for the next few hours. No long term side effects though. I'd leave them alone, personally.

if you're going to do them have a full day set aside for it, the after effects can be draining if you're not prepaired for it, and it can get sketch if you're like eatting dinner with your family later.

just erowid.org it, and if you choose to do them be very careful as to take less than a Heavy dose.

If your family has a history of metal illnesses hallucinagenic drugs can bring that to the surface, if say the illness is dormant.

make sure if you do them you have good friends around, and somebody that has already done them is helpful too. Tripping by yourself isnt really fun, because everyone thinks your crazy. but other then that yeah..

I was under the impression he'd done shrooms before but wasn't so sure about taking wild ones. If this is your first time dude, by all means go out and buy some. You want to be sure it's a good experience and you definitely don't want to fuck around with getting owned by shitty shrooms as it may well ruin the experience for you forever, which would suck as shrooms are outstanding. There are plenty of threads with good tips for your first time tripping, and everything in the quote is solid advice. If you have tripped before, I stand by my original post.

i was just worried about the wild ones ive done shrooms before just to clear that up. but i think when i go up there i will do the whole taking a picture and posting it on that website for sure.

i thought i would add that there is a lot of people that have done them. people sneak onto the land all the time to steal them. so i guess that makes it a little better but who is to say that i dont get a bad batch right

unless your still in middle school people dont really take drugs to be popular. plus shrooms could open up so many knew doors for you, its not a bad thing to do, a little change in your life is a good thing, unless you become a shroom fiend and thats all you think about and do.

I not not willing to try it because I tend to experience life without altering my state of mind. Nor am I willing to destroy my body just for a temporary high. My life is far from boring, I love climbing, skiing, biking and my future job. the adrenaline high is more powerful and makes me a stronger person. Peer pressure, as shown above, is a reason to take drugs. You seem to despise me for not recommending taking shrooms. See the point?

you obviously havent had any experience with drugs besides the commercials which present false information.

peer pressure is a joke for those who are obsessed with social acceptance. If you have to change your lifestyle to fit in with a group you shouldn't be friends with them anyways.

Tripping balls everyday? yeah that might be a problem after a while... but no one in a healthy state of mind would ever have the urge to do that. Having an amazing trip a several times a year is completely harmless, in fact it has more benefits than anything. Going to Taco Bell once a week is much more harmful then eating mushrooms or even lsd

I respect your decision to not experience anything further than the reality you have known your whole life... which doesn't seem very interesting to me, you must lack some curiosity about the world. but trust me you don't take hallucinogenics because you are 'bored'. Have you even ever thought about it for a second? What the fuck is reality? It's what you experience through your brain signals, thats it. Shrooms open up a different part of these thought process that you will never experience otherwise. You aren't seeing pink elephants and pyramids around you. If you allow them to, it lets you step back and view everything, society, people, the world, from the bigger picture. I was skeptical until I tried them myself. The second you do, you will understand. As ridiculous as it may sound to you, if everyone in the world was forced by law to take boomers once, the world would probably be a better place, at least temporarily before the trips were lost in what you call "Reality" which is a crazed, fucked up world in the end.


I just hate the fuckin "im straight-edge im better than you, my life is more meaningful because I embrace everyday for what it is without psychoactive substances" bullshit.


When I was younger i wasn't down with the idea of it either... but i was never as closed minded as you. I am looking forward to tripping again this spring, and know that is going to be another amazing experience.

believe what you want, Im just pointing out my point of view. You have agree that any mind altering substances may ( I really mean MAY) destroy your body, but eventually harm your body after prolonged use. It is like cutting yourself, once in awhile, it will heal and no damage is apparent. But, do it often, and the body cannot heal itself.
The reason why I hate drug is the whole mind altering thing...I love having control of my body. I passed out once drunk and it was the worst experience of my life. The high I get from "extreme sports" beats being drunk or high (yes I tried pot and it sucked). I feel complete, I dont have a lack of curiosity...in fact I love sciences...especially astronomy and physics.
I love the way you used reality...I love thinking of this stuff. Reality is not as it appears, we only experience it by our senses. The process is done in the brain by a series of electric pulses and chemical compounds. break a connection and your perception of the world changes, your reality changes according to perception. Ill prefer to start a thread on this.
Drugs wasted a generation...a generation I am not proud about. I feel also our generation is being wasted by our selfish needs. We have developed more ways to kill ourselves than progression. (I have been star trek too often)

Oh, by the way, im 20...im not closed minded, straight edge maybe, but not closed minded. I never felt the urge to try drugs, argue all you want, I cannot change my mind, but ill be more than willing to listen each of your experiences though. I just think encouraging to one's unhealthy behavior  is wrong, no matter if its drug related or not.

freestyler540, I get where you're coming from, but you're totally contradicting yourself.

Everybody is entitled to have their own view on everything, so who are you to say that drugs are wrong?  I'm not preaching from one side of the fence here, I have strong opinions for both sides of this nonsensical, trivial argument.  I've had quite a few friends destroy themselves abusing drugs, but its due to their negligence and lack of self-control, not the drug itself.  However, you need to also flip the situation around to really appreciate how wonderfully lost your misconceptions are.  How many people do you know who could greatly improve their life by abandoning their lofty "ideals" and trying something before they formulate a biased opinion about it?  This doesn't just apply to drugs, it applies to anything.  Personally, I know way more people who limit themselves through preconceptions and bias than those who hurt themselves through curiosity.  By no means am I ever going to advocate drug use, but I do strongly encourage at least giving things a wholehearted chance before passing judgement. 

If someone wants to occasionally see the world from a different perspective it doesn't make you any better than them.  The fact that they gave it a shot and enjoy it doesn't make them better than anyone else.  We live in a world of ambiguity, and to make the sweeping generalization that something is wrong just doesn't make sense.  Nothing is absolute, and the world could be a much better place if more people could just realize this simple concept.

it's true tho. I live in seattle and I pick mushrooms here. you can find them everywhere if you know where to look from like october-december. you just have to know what you're looking for. just go learn some shit about how to identify the kind of mushrooms they are and don't take chances with ones you're unsure about. they are really good when they are fresh mushrooms especially for tea. it's totally worth it. just make sure you do your reading.

yeah when i was like 16 me and a bunch of kids ate random mushrooms we found in cow patties in the utah desert... one of the kids threw up . That was it . But thinking back it was probably a really bad decision. Found out later that there were over 15 species that would of killed us straight up

I do see your point, but I dont see were I contradict myself. I am simply arguing that a drug free life is more beneficial, not superior. But in the long run, I cannot make you not take drugs, but I can strongly oppose the use by arguing but, its up to the person to see both sides of the medal and act on his/her decision.

forst u need to do soem mad research. and u wont be able to eat that batch ither. unless ur smart and have a good food dehydrater and siclical gel u wont be able to store these ud have to eat em fresh.  also u need to figure out what kind they are and potency and that nonsence. go to shroomery.org and check the hunting forum. take pics and ask for a id.  its deff legit if u have the correct ones

i live in vt and in the spring i go hunting in the feilds all the time and soemtiems i can get lik 6 ounces at one of the spots. i eat em fresh too. but soemtiems have a weak stomach and make tea. the kind i hunt for are apnalous subblatous or soemthign liek that. and i need liek dubbel the ammount to equal normal cubenisis i would buy. way more visual tho and way more connection to the earth forsoem reason. i love nature

Adrian you bring up excellent points... and again here we are arguing another NSG drug thread. All I have to say, is some people enjoy the escape and the travel through both space and mind. Others, prefer the solid reality... in the end does it matter? We are all going to end up as empty carcasses in the ground... so do what you enjoy. Just make sure it doesn't bite you in the ass later.

as much as i respect your decision, come on man. i'm pretty sure you are older and realize that drugs in moderation, moderation being the key word will not fuck your life over. like i said that is cool that you are happy where you are in life and choose not to do drugs. but i can guarantee you that any adrenaline high you get is not as strong as from drugs, guaranteed. most people say drugs are a "mind opening experience" but i'm not going to lie to you, i do them because hell, they are fun. it's as simple as just making your own decisions, and not going overboard on either end. anyways, i'm sure you've heard enough from me and (although i didn't read down any further), the rest of NS. so with that, good day.

Word this is where its at. We hunt shrooms and get mad harvests, real legit too, just gotta know which ones to look for. Do some research and all is well.

To those going at each other over their views on drugs, who the fuck cares? its all personal choice, i respect someone who chooses not to do drugs way more than someone who does them for social reasons. Act on your own thoughts, not those of others.

Hahaha prettty on point. I mean its cool that you dont do drugs and stuff but just cause you dont like them doesnt mean you should strongly oppose them. If you tried weed once then you obviously didnt get high. From My experience I didnt get high till like the 4th time I smoked so maybe you should give it another shot in a good environment and you might change your mind.

But even in that argument you are incorrect. A drug free life is not always as beneficial as the life of someone who has TRIED it once or twice. Honestly, I don't know where you get your facts, but pcilocybin mushrooms are agreed by 9 out of 10 scientists and doctors to be more beneficial than detrimental. As the only side effects are temporary, are water soluble, and do not form bodily deposits nor cause any kind of mental issues (it is actually used to treat schizophrenia, chronic migraines and other psychoactive problems), mushrooms are one of the safest drugs in the world. The only real problems would be over-use, (causes liver problems, but so does alcohol, soda, and excessive amounts of lemons) or a bad trip - in which case is an emotional problem which can be easily dealt with. Please consider researching your topic before simply posting an opinion. If you don't know more than what D.A.R.E. tells you, then you don't really know much about drugs in general, so please refrain from posting.
