I'm hiking herman later in the season, but I'm trying to figure out the best approach. From topo's it looks like straight up from meadows, but its pretty dense woods...
anyone hike it?

ski down to the bottom of the valley and walk out past herman until you're underneath the saddle. then go up through the gully that is inbetween herman saddle and herman. if you're going to hit it in the spring, hit it early, it gets lots of sun. if you're bootbacking, you might as well just go straight up it, it doesnt really matter either way.

What ^ said. Yeah if you have AT bindings or just teleing (sp?) skin up the saddle and then work your way up it.

Thanks guys. No AT setup, we'll just have snowshoes. I think we'll hike right after spring break. I figure we can do Hermann early season then move over to table later, hopefully we'll get a few nice spring storms rollin through.
Any suggested lines?

Theres a couple of sick lines I'd have trouble choosing...
All I'm going to say is do your avalanche shit, aka snowpits/sheer/other tests, bring all your gear. Be safe.
