I'm lookin at movin to Montana next year, pretty much on a whim. What's the best hill for park? Is it Big Mountain? I looked at their site and they said 30-40 footers in the Swifty park, is there anything bigger?
great divide is based mainly on their mountain, its a pretty sick park, but like all parks, it can get old fast. and there isnt much of a mountain to ski so i would say go the big mountain
The Swifty park is at Big Sky and it doesn't have anything that's 30' long. The most fun stuff I've seen has been at Great Divide and Big Mountain, with Big Mountain having about 1,000,000x the terrain and snowfall.
Great Divide has the best park im my opinion but I havent been to Big Mountain in a few years. Big Mountain has more terrain and more snow though. I'm sure its a little spendier than great divide though.
big mountain's is actually sick this year. they learned how to cut the pipe, set up some nice rails, and built some well designed and really smooth jumps, which is a first. the biggest one this year is 50 feet and its a really nice jump. but the pow this year has definitely been epic. great terrain, great mountain, deent park thats improving, and a super fun place to ski since it also has alot of sick natural features. i'd say big mountain. then big sky for number 2
I think I'll be living in Bozeman, so Big Sky would be way closer than Whitefish. I skied Big Sky years ago as a kid, but from what I remember it was a sick hill. And everyone is pushing for bigger and better parks, so maybe they'll keep up the trend and have bigger than 40' next year...
2nd jump in bush park will probably be moved down hill hill a couple hundred feet to where the rainbow is and built big for the spring, 50-70ft, if all works out well. This is all tentative, and depends on cat time and management okay. We def need a bigger jump though.
Big Mountain's park is definitely the best one i've ridden this year. I've skiied big sky's, moonlights, and bridgers (but that doesn't really count). It sounds like Great Divide is doin well this year, but I have yet to hit that up. At Big Mountain there are a lot of lanes for progression and some decent sized tables with some creative jibs as well. Also the pipe has been better this year.
Losttrials jumps have been sick this year and were up early. The jumpline is big! 45 stepdown to 35 step up to 60+ step down. Not to mention all the super high quality rails boxes and uniquness of some of the jibs.
there is moonlight right next to big sky and i have herd they have good set ups there, but im not sure of any booters.. i cant confirm this myself personaly cuz i have yet to go there this year..last year they had a fun jib park there..
All wrong, the best park in the state and possibly in the west has to be showdown. there jibs are bettr than anything at park city and the jumps at sd are suicidal. The best part is the showdown throwdown, thats when they make the biggest jump of the year. Its like the JOI in Are sweden but here in America.
