i went to lake placid ones with big-ben for 7 days, stayed in a hotel for like 50 dollors a night and learned soooo much shit. searously the best place on earth.

Matt-stunt, is there like public sessions during the summer becasue i'm in Lake placid all summer and thought it was only for Us team training. If there is public ones, how much does it cost ? Also don't you boots get trashed?

Whistler has some, but the camps mainly use them so i don't know how you will be able to get to use them.

yea there is you have to call up one of the coaches and set up time with them.We went in september and again in october and its cheaper it cost us $66 a day and then we split a hotel which was $50 a night so it was like $116 a day each which is not bad at all considering how much you will learn

FTW. I've gone to Placid and Utah which are both sick, but for learning newschool stuff, Ohio Dreams is the best. You can't go as big as you can off the double or the triple at the Olympic Parks but realistically you won't be hitting jumps that big on snow anyways and the jumps are way less sketchy to hit switch and are double flip-able. Last year Sammy and Pete visited for a few days and they said it was best water ramp setup they had ever hit.

As for prices, you can either get a hotel and go for $35 per day or go to camp for a week which is about $750 I think with everything included. Plus if you skate, bike, or inline you can do that while you are there too.

like yesterday I was looking for wild oats website so I googled it and one of the first sites was wild-oats. It had nothing to do with the store, if fact I think it was for gay porn...all I saw was the image of this guy starting to load and I closed it right away

Thanks for the info Big-Ben, I think I might have to hit it up this summer. By the way are the jumps realistic to say Boulders or are they the mad steep ones the olympic dudes use for aerials? Also I'm about to google ohio dreams so i give an opinion in a few minutes. by the way, Ben are you going to be killing it at Boulder this weekend... it's sick to see from the lift!!

oh wow, I just checked out ohio dreams and t looks off the hook, would def go there but I think the ones at LP are still probably cheaper, also big- ben did the tricks you learn carry over pretty well to regular jumps, seeing as the water ramps at Lp are mostly for aerials?

^^^ yea they would have except my knee exploded early in the season. but yea itranslates really well, Stunt could only do upright 7s last season and went for a week and now this season he was at breck doin cork 10s and 12s. They have aerials jumps but the one that they use for freestyle is like a really poppy kicker and they have a lever that changes the steepness of it, i looked at the ohio dreams website and the jump at lake placid is definately bigger. it gives you plenty of air to get doubles around.

yaa ohio dreams free lodging and dining breakfast lunch and dinner at maaaa house!!!!! conveniently located on the coast of lake erie 15 miles west of cleveland only an hour and a half north of ohio dreams.....get someee ughhh

how much does the camp in ohio cost? or is there just a daily fee. Plus you think it is worth it if I can only throw 3's with grabs, or should I try to get my spins up before going to be able to learn harder tricks

The full camp for one week is about $750 with everything I believe, or you can go daily if you want for $35 per day. And don't worry about not being able to spin past 3, thats why they are water ramps, so you can learn new stuff!! Also there are coaches to help you learn new tricks so you are not just hucking yourself.

i spent a decent amount of time at O.D. last summer and i can't say enough good things about it.  you can learn so much on the water ramps it's not even funny.  off the big jump in the middle i was able to do completely laid out double backs.  i'd compare the airtime to one of the big jumps at keystone.  it's sick.  and when you get tired of swimming around with your skis on, there's a world class indoor skate park designed my xgames course designer nate wessel.  there's an enormous foam pit in there (in which i learned double backs on a bmx bike) and it's extremely fun.  there's also a great outdoor skatepark and some dirt trails that will render you speechless upon viewing them for the first time.  the place is seriously world class.  if you are looking for something sick to do this summer, it's an absolute must that you check out ohio dreams.

I'm making the drive from PA to go to Ohio Dreams a few times this summer.  I'm so pumped. Its going to be the highlight of my summer.  I'm banking on those ramps to make me a lot better at jumps.

What does the ohio dreams jumps do to your skis. they say they are different than most but with the water impact do you still brake alot of skis? And your boots will be fine as long as you dry them good when your done right?

^^at most water ramp facilities they bubble up the landings so you have no surface tension=soft landing.

skis will get broken if you are doing ramps for at least a week. the simple solution is to not use your brand new or current skis. use a shitty pair, maybe urban condition because you dont need edges, and put fiberglass on the topsheet. put it from tip to tail so that the ski doesnt bend. you will not be able to use them in the winter, but they will last in the summer and it will maximize the time your skis will hold up in water ramps

Well, by $750 for everything, I mean $750 for everything. You show up to camp Sunday afternoon and you are there until Saturday morning. There are "living quarters" aka a place to sleep and put all your stuff, with a cafeteria about a 1 min walk away, and then about a 5 min walk from there to the actual "activity" area is where there are the skate parks and ramps and such. So you get up, go eat something, go skate/bike/ramp in the morning, come back for some lunch, go back to session, come get some dinner, go session some more, then come back and go to bed. Ramp/skate time, coaching, food, accomodations, and even some tubing/wakeboarding on a near-by lake is all included. It is basically a week long summer camp for rolling/skating/biking/skiing. You can also go for two weeks if you want which is even more sick.
