Controling your dreams..

okay totaly random thread on my part but i am just watching this new show on the discovery channel called like "the human body" and it was showing how you could be able to control your dreams. it showed a blind to put over your eyes when you go to sleep and it can tell when you are in REM sleep..and it (the blind thing) will turn on a light and it wouldnt be bright enough to wake you up but bright enough so you know there is a light... and the idea behind this was that in your dreams when you saw that light you would be like "oh snap im dreaming i can do what i want" cuz you notice that light....

that would be dope as hell, think about it you could do anything...just thought i would throw that out there, deffinitly will entertain some stoners if nothing else haha.

You already can do anything you want in your dreams. This is because the logical/rational part of your brain almost entirely shuts down when you enter into REM

that little light thing sounds awesome.

its called lucid dreaming. there is actually a cult, if you want to join. im in it, and its pretty cool. 2+2=5 has a lot of good info.

I've been trying to lucid dream for a while now (well it's gotten a little half-assed lately, but I WAS trying) with no luck. Quite a shame really...This cult sounds interesting.

I'm always in some kind of epic struggle whenever I'm having a vivid dream too. Alot of times it seems like theres another person, and we're stalking eachother, like I'm trying to find him and kill him before he can find me and kill me. It's really intense.

a lot of the times when i dream i know im dreaming and i just roll around and do what i want...pretty sick. and when dreams start getting to scary i just wake myself up...but i still get dreams were i don't think im dreaming and I have no control over those.

I bet everyone is thinking this, and you arent gonna admit it. But i hate it  when i wake up right in the middle of an AWESOME SPECTACULAR DREAM EXTRAVAGAnZA( you know what im  talking about guys). And then you try to force that dream back into action,and you cna  see it for a second. but then itsgone. and the SUPERHAPPY FUNTIME dream is los.

Yeah I do that with about 80% of my dreams. The only bad part is when shit goes bad sometimes, and you try to wake yourself up, but it doesn't work. One time I started being chased in a lucid dream, and ran to the top of a building, because I know that normally when you jump off something really high, you wake up right before you hit. That's what I normally do. But now I've done it so much, it doesn't work all the time anymore. I jumped off the building, but came smashing down and fucked myself up on the ground. It hurt like a bitch. Didn't break anything, but it was like when you get worked on a ski fall. You feel all discombobulated and shit. Then I had to keep running. It was gay.

This has most definitely happened to me at least five times, although i didn't realize it at the time, you just kind of dream about whatever your thinking about, i remember one where i was on a rollercoaster and i wanted to be higher and faster, so in my dream the rollercoaster magically got faster, and it felt so real.

To be in control of your body when you dream you must start out small.
Step 1
Before you go to bed, remember to look at your hands in your dream. This the first step to lucidity.
This may take many nights but you must remember in your dream to look at your hands.
Once you complete this task
Step 2
Attempt your hands
Step 3->
each night try to control a larger part of your body

recap
see hands
move hands
move arms
move torso
move entire uper body
move uperbody and waist
move feet
move legs
Move entire body

You guys cant control what happens in your dreams? I can, its really fun. I can't control everything, like in a nightmare I have less control over what my body can do but more control of whats going on. And in a normal dream I have complete control of my body usually and can do basically whatever. But when I realize this it usually wakes me up

O, and I guess my advice for realizing your dreaming is pinching yourself, if it doesn't hurt, then you can do what you want :D This is usually how I end up making sure I'm dreaming so I don't do something stupid

yeah i can do it sometimes. i sleep for 5 hours then set an alarm and then stay up for half an hour or so or as long as i can and then when you start falling asleep again i dunno how to describe it but when your eyes are closed theres kinda flashes and light and you focus on the black and the light turns into things and you start dreaming...im not that good at controling it but im conscious that im dreaming.

lucid dreamings easy. all you have to do is start slow and start with recognizing that you are dreaming. once you can do that regularly manipulating your dreams is as easy as touching yourself
