on friday my teacher let us watch a snowboarding movie (technicolour) i had in my backpack and after this kid came up to me and said "that movie sucked" i replied "what are you talking about?" he then went on about how all the tricks were the same and they just kept grinding rails and doing spins. he was pretty annoying

i was skiing at my local mtn, about to hit a c box, when i notice this lady and her kid are just standing there. and this is a 100 ft wide trail. I still hit it, as i thought they'd have the brains to move when they saw me coming. they didn't.
me: hey, could u please move away from features so people can hit them?
lady: no, why should i, just hit something else
me: well, seeing as there's only one feature in this line, i really can't, so just move. u have a nice wide trail.
lady: i'm calling ski patrol!
i ski away.

getting off payday at pc, heading down to kings, and this stereotype gaper--open coat, old boeri helmet, jeans, gogles hanging by the strap on the back of the helmet.......little kid, kinda fat...

He comes up to me, asks me how to "grind a pipe" i tell him,....he stays at top of kings for a while, then just skis down to the payday minipark, yelling "RIDE EM HORSEYYYYYY"

I love gapers as long as they aren't cocky or assumeing.  But when they ask if I do "the flippy spinny tricks" and the "metal rail grinds", I always respond that, yeah I guess I do all that.  spandex and gates just isn't for all good skiers

My faves are some of the names gapers come up with to desribe tricks lol.

I once heard a Bio 7 described as a 'Twizzle', and an x-up over a kink as a 'Rail jump'

Gapers are great fun...

It's a Vail thing, but I used to get this one about once a year.  "Where do you catch the bus to Mid Vail"?   In a thick Texas acccent.  For anyone who hasn't skied Vail, Mid Vail is a restaurant about halfway up the mountain.

I do a three off one of the jumps at the canyons. This 10 year old kid comes up to me and says I used to be able to do that...

this made me laugh because I couldn't imagine some kid doing a three when he was like 8 and not being able to do it anymore
