Just got back from watching 10,000 BC in theaters, very cool movie. What were everyone else's thoughts?

i saw it at 5 tonight haha. (funny time to go to a movie on friday, but nice cuz i had the rest of the night for whatever)

i thought it was a way tight movie. it was kind of like 300, but less computer generated and more realistic. also, there was more of a deeper meaning and plot, and i got really stoked after seeing it, like from all the passion and brotherhood and what not.
i would definately reccomend seeing it

I thought it was very mediocre.
Ok, I know, its fiction, but fuck the title.

Anyway, the movie was like a badly made collage of many other war/adventure epic predecessors. It really had no sense of itself, so it took from just so many other sources, where in those cases sometimes they worked, and didn't in others, and just became a diluted piece of shit. CGI was good, but... so?

The scripting was bad. Like... give us some fucking foundation before you throw out all this generic love bull shit. All the moments where you were supposed to be like "oh, thats why" were so blatant it was just meh. There seemed to be a big chance of bile reaching my mouth on a couple of occasions. Seriously, people just need to strip this formulaic scripting for epics or something and just make it better, because its so bland.

I know there is some element of artistic initiative, as well as a fictitious vision of something prehistorical... but... give me a break.

Sorry, I'm not really sure how to bundle it all up nor really get at the details that bugged me. But the movie isn't good, and I didn't even pay to see it! Man, I would have been pissed to spend ~$10.

Ya i also saw it and i agree with NPR's take on the movie, "the should serve crackers with that film."
for it was extremely corny, cheesy and all together nothing more than a few seconds of testosterone.
the movie pretty much was a play off of lord of the rings and 300, with some scenes being almost identical. Ex. when in LOTR two towers, they are crossing the mountains was pretty much identical to a scene in 10000, also helms deep??? just instead of cool guys on horses charging down a ramp it was oversized buffalo (mammoths).
finally the movie bugged me cause it was sooo predictable, i seriously called the last half hour, including the spear throw and last breath bull shit way in advance. So in my opinion dont see this unless you have a 40 or a couple blunts in you

i didnt really like it at all. i mean i guess they had a good idea with it but it was kinda boring and didnt live up to my expectations.

haha more realistic. are you serious???? the people traveled from somewhere like mongolia, to the magical jungle with attack flamingos, to battling a saber tooth, to africa, to the great deserts, to egypt.

hahha i think not.

i thought it had its moments, but over all wasn't very good at all. The narrations in the begining were aweful and the spear throw scene was such a complete pathetic rip off i couldn't even believe it.

i thought it was decent. 2 stars...

here go my ramblings...
there were some parts of it that were incredibly corny and made me laugh. examples...

right off the start the way the main character and that other chick "fell in love" was ridiculous. she just walked over to him one day, not knowing each other, and 35 seconds later they were hand in hand watching the sunset. awwwww. but not really.

the main hunters name being "tick tick". this made me laugh sooooooo hard when i first heard his name.

having them calling the mammoths "mannic". wtf?

their greeting: touching forearms. hahahaha

the ramblings of the crazy old lady

after the chick and the others gets kidnapped, on their trek to save them they gather people to form an army. all the groups they gathered were wearing these ridiculous masks that made me lol.

after they are at the pyramids, the main character needs more info on the god. so they go and find this absolutely insane blind/wtf ever guy and pull him out of a secret compartment in the floor. wtf. that mans soul purpose in life was to know everything about one god just in case someone asked. hahahaha

the heroic spear throw! the main character hurls a spear like 50 yards that has a hangtime of like 5 seconds and the guy just watches it own him. he could have just very easily stepped to the side and he would have been fine. they tried too hard to be like the 300 scene. but whatever.

my likings....

the special effects were actually very good

time really flew for me through this movie. for the time to fly i have to be interested, so the plot was actually pretty good, with a few screw ups here and there.

overall though a good time, a lot of laughs for me. im so critical....

My feeling was that it was cool for the cgi. but the ending sucked. 10 minutes of fighting? wft is that shit.

it was aight, u could totally tell someone was gonna get killed when the girl and guy were like slomo running toward each other, a lot of the deathes were like flukes too, seemed like they never quite killed some ppl, that always pisses me off

THEY NEVER CONFIRMED THE KILL
 I mean half the deaths in the film was from someone they tried to kill but never confirmed it

and the narrator sort of sounded like the coors light narrator.

yea i went to it and left after the frist 20 minutes... it was funny tho cuz me and my friend kept on sayin that the people in the movie were on crack and weed cuz they had these sick dreads.... everything that happened we just said that they wanted their crack... never really got the story line tho cuz i left

Personally for me my breaking point was when the little disturbed child said something like "you are the north star in my heart, you will never go away..."

By then I just had to go, I said fuck this and went and watched Be Kind Rewind, which was mildly decent.
