I have been smoking cig's for about 5 months now and i want to quit. I know that 5 months is not a lot of time, but it is not a healthy choice. Now this is where NS comes in...

MORAL SUPPORT!

who ever was saying chew instead of smoke i deffanatly dont agree.  I smoked for a few months at school, basically started at parties and would smoke all through the second semester.  I really wanted to quit when after hiking i couldnt breath for shit.  So i decided "shit ill just pack a dip that way i can still breath AND get my nicotine" so stupid.  More of a buz goes straight into your blood and makes you want it more.  Now everytime i go to work i have to have a dip on the way.  Like if im on my way and i dont have a dip i get all pissy for the next 8 hrs.  worst part is that now i dont feel the same need to quit until i look at my gums and they are all white and torn up.  I try to limit myself to only a few dips a day and dont take break to go for one.

Good luck for anyone else trying to quit.  For me i dont think its nessicary the nicotine addiction i deffanatly like it, but its more of an oral fixation and habbit that i basically just substituted one for another

if you are really really addicted start by knocking it down to cloves then chew gum. thats what my sister did to quit. but as for me... well i never started so nothing to worry about. but anyway good luck man smoking a cigarette once in a while doesnt hurt but alot can kill you

but fuck, i'm gonna end up starting again this weekend. i'm going away with my friend and her mom for the weekend, and me and my friend have our own room. we're gonna be partying it up, and she smokes a pack a day
i've really been trying to stop because i swim competitively and smoking makes it impossible to breathe.

whenever someone asks you if you smoke say i choose not to smoke today my aunt has done it for 6 years and doesn't smoke it helps ALOT

Dip/Chew is the most disgusting thing ever. like a fifth of the guys at my school do it, all the damn hicks and its terrible. it smells bad, it's all over the ground and shit, and it fucks up your mouth so bad. we had this guy come talk to us who started dipping because of baseball and it ruined his career and his face-they had to amputate like half of his fucking jaw. it's just as bad as smoking, if not worse.

and as for me, i'll never smoke a cigarette because i know i'd get addicted pretty easy, and i already have sort of an oral fixation thing. also i have shitty lung capacity because i was born really early and have underdeveloped lungs, so i wouldn't be able to breathe at all.

i would go for dip. u actaully get something out of it. not just blowing smoke out your mouth. makes you feel good. loopy. start with skoal pouches. then go to skoal longcut then grizzly then manly shit like kodiak haah

today i had my last cigarette. i'm quitting for good. i've been spending a lot of time thinking about life and how easily it can be taken away from you, and i just don't want to do anything that can end up threatening mine, if i can help it.
it felt so good throwing out my pack.
i'm done with this, for real this time.

Im quitting and it sucks, Ive been smoking for about two years and not having a cig sucks but mostly at work it affects me. when im on break I have no idea what to do so I just sit there and get angry. Plus it does not help that there is no smoking in the apartment courtesy of my mom and dad, but since my mom is lazy and wont walk three flights of stairs she smokes in my mom and leaves the evidence so i get caught.

Once I finish this quarter, I'm quitting smoking pot every day and cutting back to once or twice a month...atleast that's my aim. I feel I'm getting so unhealthy and short of breath. It was fun while it lasted but I do care about my fitness and physical shape

i didnt read this thread but i started smoking a few weeks ago but i only smoke when im drunk. (goes hand in hand and makes you feel 33% better) but there is a pill you can get that achually works. it needs to be perscribed though.
