Overdoing steeze

I'm feeling like kids are trying too hard to be steezy nowadayz.  I mean it's reall good to look relaxed when skiing but I find it funny to see kids going onto a jump with a stance  jump land and then  pose in a stance that is clearly not the stance they would  be having if they had something else to hit afertward.

I'm feeling like  kids are trying  hard to look like they arent trying and it end up not looking that natural.

jon brogan is very sick tho, i rambled around with him and bishop at us open and i swear to god jons feet are touching each other at all times, one of the coolest things ever i might say. so yeah hes sick, i enjoi his style

My opinion on steeze:

You have it or you don't. That's how you "do" steeze. the only way to over do steeze is to try and have steeze. You don't force steeze, it just happens. If you try for more of  it then it will almost always be overdone

I had a surf instructor once in Australia who told me "its all about style man, seriously it is because in the end what will set you apart will be your own developed style and unfortunenitly not everyone knows this" Style in reference to a sport takes time, effort, passion and devotion and it will develop itself...and if it develops into a ride away steeze like that then so be it, i say let everyone have their steeze and enjoy diversity. anyway you know when im dj hungover as fuck skiing im rocking a laid back hornbeck steeze

I hate those fucking newbs like who streight air everything and they have a fucking insane coat and shit but they cant do annything! and then I am there with the crap equipment throwing tricks ( I want his gear) and then those same kids always put like the top of their pole handles together... wtf is that u try too hard! also when I started no poling at my mountain ( out of solidarity for my friend who couldnt hold poles anymore without thumbs) all the kids started no polling especialy the newbs.... why cant people just ski for them selves anymore... dont give a crap what people think about you..... make the sport progress.

a wise man once said copying is the most blatan(donno if i spelled that right) form of flattery. and can't you just not care about the way other people look or ski? they're going off the jumps, give em props for that, its great that theyre just out there! and as to the gear they wear, you have no idea what the story is behind that. Skiing shouldn't be judged, by you or me. just forget about everyone else and have fun!

brogans edit was sick but a good example is on that really corked out three when he starts carving before he goes off the jump. watch the landing like he moves hes feet so close together so they are almost touching and just stands up it looked really unnatural no hate though the kid is mad nice at skiing.

forced? style is style because its calculated and most importantly CONTROLLED. You can make the argument that most tricks are forced because you force your body into a position. So where are you gonna draw the line? There is alot of flava out there now and I like it. If you want that natural look get out some 1990 ski videos. You can start by checking out blizzard of oz for what you call "natural steeze".

Wallisch, Brogen, Hornbeck, and Downey all have that after bang you hate on, but really, its fire. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to watch a controlled skier.

ya dude dont worry about it, this thread was created 100% to create controversy. All the steeze that comes from everyone who has been called out in this thread just overloads the brains of some people and causes them to not think straight. Its cool tho just return to skiing so the rest of us can enjoy this "forced" steeze.

i cant stand that stuff anymore. I was just arguing with some kids today about it.  I say, ride away just as you land, get prepared for the next feature or just keep yoru head over your shoulder and bust some carves. DONT look back at the camera or keep you body boner straight. so annoying. if you land standing up its fine to ski away standing up, if you land decent or shitty then dont fuckin stand straight up and look at the camera
