would it be a bad idea to mix a P18 heel peice with a PX12 lifter toe peice? i feel much safter with the vertical release, but i read that it would'nt be a good idea to mix bindings, though these are the same company and the toe peices seem identical other than vertical toe release and the din range.
Mixing binding parts that aren't the same generally isn't a good idea, not to mention you might have issues with ramp angle trying a setup like that. Have you thought about FKS 120's or just using an entire set of px12's?
if you know your stuff, its fine. however, the PX toe isnt nearly as good. if you want a vertical release, find some older turntables with the late 90s racestock pivot toe or the older TT9 toe. both are amazing toe pieces, especially the TTs, although they are pretty tough to find. ramp angle is rarely an issue with these guys unless your doing something stupid. the problem with the pivot toe is there just isnt as solid of a connection with the boot as there is with the racestocks, so you get some play in them. another good option is a salomon 916 or 914 toe. the 914s have the spheric release pattern. hit me up if you want more help.
