Switch on uncentered skis?

Ok so I'm pretty new to newschool skiing so hopefully some of you guys can help me out. I've been a snowboarder for the last 13 years or so and just made the switch over to skiing. Anyways, when I bought my skis, the guy at the store said unless I was going to be riding strictly park and lots of rails, I shouldn't center up my skis. Now that I know what I'm doing on my skis I want to start learning to ride switch and hit some jumps and stuff. Will it be a lot harder for me since my bindings aren't centered up?

not at all. centered bindings helps with spin balance if you spin a lot, and some with skiing switch. starting skiing, personally I wouldn't mount center unless they are true-sym

my one pair of skis i ski with are mounted back from centewr and i can ski/land swicth fine

its not to hard skis with uncenterd
but it also isnt hard to ski non park/switch with centerd skis but there isnt much point to that

no man do center mount unless you plan on using it for like 90 to 100% park. If you plan on at least half your time all mountain I would just go at recomended.

you can ski switch good on any type of ski. yes, skis like my anthems are better for that, but i can bomb switch on regular non twin tip skis too, its just easier on centered. but you'll be fine.

ya no worries it will work fine but if u get into park more i would recomend center

umm i just did it on green runs alot but i worked on it for a season to actually do it really well but to get the basics like 2 days

yea i got my ar6's 5cm back from center and i really wish i got them center im getting my ninthward lil butter from backcountry center mounted

I don't think anyone should ride a park ski at recommended, if you're going to ride any park at all, I would recommend foward at least a little bit. As long as you're at core center or behind, your skis will ride fine, what people complain about is when your skis are mounted in front of the sidecut the ski handles kind of weird, and they sink in powder, but I ride all my skis true center and I love it in the park and out, so I dont know what the big deal is.

don't worry about it for this year for skiing switch and beginning jumps. but once you get more technical in the park get center...not for skiing switch but instead for spins and rails balance is alot nicer on centers i think. just better feel.

core center is the thickest part of the core of the ski, sometimes this is recommended, other times its slighlty forward. true center is the actuall dead center of the entire length of ski.

not at all.. mine arent centered and im doing ne thing that someone with centered would eb doing.. its not worth it..jsut keep it as it is.. maybe next year or when u get new skis.. then center mount them..

thanks. i just had a look at my old chronics and true center seems to be farther back than core. i think. so reckon i'll be fine to mount the ones i hoe to get soon at true. i hate being a bit back, it's weird.
