Steamboat water ramps

ive never been there before and have a few questions. can anyone hit them? how much does it cost? and when do they open?

gotta be a ussa member and its 20 a day. a ripoff when weighing in the facts of breaking or sinking skis and non airated water.

20 a day sounds good and i have about 4 old family pairs of skis to trash. but why isnt it airated? that would hurt like a bitch

I wanna say they open in late may- early june and its only like 5- 10bucks.  Dont take my word for it, but i think im pretty close

as long as noones there training you can pretty much just go and use the ramps and tramps for free...if its after 4 ull be good. Also I think theyre airating them this summer

ya my roomire lost a ski there this summer. i imagine it is kinda hard to airate a lake though. ussa memberships are expensive

Just watched a video of these on youtube and they look kind of small. Are they big enough to do double flips relatively easily?

i hit them last summer. but i was with my ski group. they are pretty legit except for the water isn't airated. what you have to do is tie string to your ski and then attack it to your boot and you won't lose your skis. i found probably five or six skis at the bottom when i dove down. the aerial jump is big enough to double flip off of. the park jump isn't though. serious does any one know how you can use them without going through an organizaiton?
does anyone know of anyone on the steamboat team? message them if you do about the water ramps

it doesn't matter if your on the steamboat team or not...

you need a ussa membership...
then you have to pay daily to use them... well most of the time.

bump, you no long have to be a ussa member, just show up, doubles are hard off the park jump, but doable and theyre easy off the areial jump..i think its like $20-$25 a day...super fun out there.... theyre open through like late september, so its a good place for some fall training, bring a wet suit.  go to the steamboat springs winter sports club website and contact eric skinner for times etc. just thought this might be useful for anyone that wants to ramp this fall.

^I checked their site a few weeks ago and it still said you had to have a USSA membership.. Thats interesting though, might have to check it out. Ill contact that guy.

not at all. Steamboat is way cheap and worth it. try and find any other water ramps that cheap. oh and the lake has a bubble system(not very good tho). its way sick there

i know the guy that organizes the insurance for it. Hes my girlfriend's dad.  and no, you dont need to be a ussa member.  im out there all the time and random kids show up constantly.

Yeah i live in steamboat to and go there all the time. I am postive that USSA is not required. This is the first year that they are doing it this way. Check it out sometime though its fun!

They're still open (this weekend and next- Oct 12 or so).  You probably won't need a life jacket.  There is a fair amount of extra gear around.
