Its not that it is warming or cooling; its getting more extreme.
Its snowing in the middle east, its raining constantly in the east, tornadoes in the south. It would be ignorant and unscientific to report about one single case.

Always see the world as a equilibrium, like a human body. When a part of it become in excess, or in need, the planet will try to correct itself.

that is siimply not true. The cooling is not the same human-chasing ice you see in the day after tomorrow. It is caused by sun spots or solar flares becoming less active. The article itself says the four major climatologist firms say there are more powerful climate actors than greenhouse gases.

Also the world is not an equilibrium that is the most uneducated statement ever. The world has never been and never will be an equilibrium. Millions of years ago, the atmosphere was methane, then it was carbon dioxide, now it is oxygen. If one were to look at the entire scope of the earth's history, one could make the correct assumption that the increased oxygen is actually the pollution not increased carbon dioxide; seeing as how our current atmosphere is less than 1% of the historical atmospherical composition, oxygen is a pollutant based on your definition of pollution.

Which is basically the definition of Weather, as the planet becomes more out of wack extreme corrections take place.

C. Great, you are aware that the earth has been through different phases. However, I'd like you to deny that human life has thus far been reliant on the earth being at a relative state of equilibrium. Finally no one was trying to define pollution, and I'm pretty sure the post you quoted didn't even reference it.



Now onto my own opinion. This is really really interesting. It does not however change my belief that the Greenhouse effect does exist regardless of whether it manifests itself in higher temperatures, more radical weather patterns or what have you. I do believe that the greenhouse effect will be a fairly inconsequential problem compared to our other gathering storms such as peak oil, lack of water, nuclear proliferation...

Please people, take this information, think about it. Comment on it. Don't  turn it into another thread about whether or not there will be skiing in fifty years.

There are powerful factors out there, yes. However, we have no idea what they are, and making a rating system is downright wrong. It could be extrasolar gamma bursts for all we know, theres a shit-ton that effects our climate. Its stupid to both discount or vehemently claim CO2 and human contributions as  the climate driving factor. Its part of the story. Its not the whole story. Its not the only story. Its part of the story.

B. sorry youre right it was a misquote. Nevertheless, "Scientists quoted in a past DailyTech article link the cooling to reduced solar activity which they claim is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases." I'm still gonna put my money on the Scientists over some kid who got a 1050 on their SATs, is in level 2 classes, and earns a 2.6 GPA.
C. Human life has not been completely reliant on the earth being in an equilibrium. First of all you'll have to define equilibrium because one can speculate when the sun blows up and the planet is gone, then it will be in equilibrium in comparison to its original state- nonexistent. We have lived through an ice age, a mini ice age, and multiple warming periods. It doesnt have massive effects like you may think.

D. I agree with your opinion. I do believe greenhouse gases exist but in now way believe it is the horrific doomsday bearer so many people believe now.

wow, both my parents were from Tehran 2. But yea they said that they would get alot of snow in the winter, esp up in the mountins. Ive seen some of the skiing in Iran, its so cheap and snow looks amazing, def gonna ski if i vist ever agian.

Definitely, but the overall composition of the atmosphere has remained relatively steady. There have been massive volcanic releases of ash and C02, but for the most part there has been nothing substantial enough to really throw the earth far enough out of balance that it can't re-adjust/absorb the changes. I thought that my wording "human life has been dependent on the earth being in a state of relative equilibrium" got that across. Also, earlier human life was made up of small self-sufficient hunter-gatherer groups, which would be able to react to/deal with an ice age far better than our current global economy which is entirely dependent on existing infrastructure and technology. With 6.65 billion people on earth, a climate change even a fraction as large as those we've endured before would be devastating.
