Correct, National Amusements (the parent company of Viacom) owns Comedy Central. It should be noted also that News Corp has a number of holdings in numerous forms of media, including some very reputable news outlets such as ITV and The Wall Street Journal.

Opps on Murdoch's name, but Viacom does own Comedy Central. It is an MTV network along with:

Good to know that when you're totally wrong that you copy and paste Wikipedia to try and make it look like you know what you're talking about.

So yeah, you admitted that Viacom owns Comedy Central...what does your original inaccurate statement have anything to do with it? Rupert Murdoch still has dick to do with that network. Viacom is not his company nor under his corporate umbrella.

And by the way...holding sock means ownership. When you purchase a share of stock you have just bought a portion of the company. What that may not mean is that you have any direct dealings with how the company is run.

...but this is not the case in this scenario. National Amusements is Sumner Redstone's holding company. And by the stagiest of coincidences Sumner Redstone also happens to be the Chairmen of Viacom's Board of Directors. How many more hairs would you like to split?

God, the way you try to cover your ass with a lengthy paper trail is tedious.

It's also a laugh riot when you claim owning stock isn't the same as ownership. Fucking Christ dude, that should be basic knowledge. I would at least expect a critic of the system to at least grasp some basic understanding of how it works.

However, it seems to me that you yearn for any sort of argument in order to prove how "stupid" other people are. It just gets annoying. I clearly know what stock is, but I wasn't talking about the type of ownership that I personally have of google. I'm talking about the type of ownership you get from a management position or majority share holdings, which I simply didn't notice that he held.

MY WHOLE LIFE IS A LIE BECAUSE I THOUGHT NEWS CORP AND VIACOM WERE MORE CLOSELY LINKED AND NOW I HAVE TO GO POST IN THAT DAMN THREAD.
