Ahahaha, I love that guy, but I think he just killed any chance he had in a tv career as a comedian.
Robert Murdoch owns Comedy Central as well as Faux News...
Opps on Murdoch's name, but Viacom does own Comedy Central. It is an MTV network along with:

and, "MTV Networks is a division of media conglomerate Viacom that oversees the operation of many TV network and Internet brands, including the first MTV channel."
Also:
"In November 1989, Time Warner, owners of HBO, launched The Comedy Channel as the first cable channel devoted exclusively to comedy-based programming. In April 1990, Viacom (who owned MTV, VH1, and Nickelodeon) launched an edgier rival channel called HA! After two years of limited distribution, the two channels merged into one, relaunching on April Fool's Day 1991 as CTV: The Comedy Network.[3] Viacom bought out Time Warner's half in April 2003 for $1.23 billion."

"National Amusements holds controlling voting interests in CBS Corporation, Viacom, and Midway Games, MTV Networks, BET, and movie production and distribution Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks movie studios, and is equal partners in MovieTickets.com."

Voting interest does not mean that National Amusements owns Viacom, simply that they hold significant stock in it.
And you thought Colbert was backed by someone different than the guy backing Bill O'Reily. They control both sides of the media spectrum... ;)
