im getting new bindings soon because mine are way too heavy( fischer x14s) and all i really want is a safe binding, but super light, and i already tried searchbar and i couldnt find any threads like this, so please help, i was looking at markers and rossis and salomons, but im willing to get any binding that seems good
unfortunately light and good don't go hand in hand quite yet.
rossignol fks/ look p series are the best binding available right now
in my opinion the dicontinued pivots and axil 1 from 05 are second best when it comes to safe.
the new axial2/ px are average and on the heavier side
salomon is very light, and there bindings are getting better. Or maybe look/ rossi are just getting worse?
I would consider salomon now
There's been a bunch of hype about the duke/ jester but i still don't know how I feel about marker
yeah id say fks 120 if you can stand the lower din, the 155/185 are also great, but those are alot heavier. i dont know as much about the marker jesters or sth 16s but they may be a good option if you ski a higher din.
however, keep in mind that the fks 120s have ALOT of forward lean so you may want to get your hands on a pair of shock absorber pads from the jib series px12/scratch bindings to put under the toe. my fks 120s with nordica ignitions has too much forward lean for my taste right now and the ignitions dont have that much forward lean to start out with.
he's 115 pounds riding 99% park. he doesn't need a 155 or 185. sth 16 are unneccessary and probably would not perform at optimum ability for him.
fks 120 have vertical release which is extremely nice for park. The 155/185 are heavier don't have vertical release and the din range will probably not be approriate for you. I don't think the afd really makes a difference. I've got pivots and fkx and can barely notice. It'll just make the binding heavier if anything
for salomon i wouldn't look at the sth16 the din range will probably not be approriate for you. I would look into sth12 and z12. Both bindings are going to be lighter than fks but fks may release more consistently.
yeah i missed the weight. i completely agree, fks 120 would be prime. but as i said bufore, for 99% park the shock absorber in the toe may be helpful.
the z12s are not the most durable bindings and if hes throwing it down in the park run after run he may want something that will last longer. ehile the sth 12s will probably last long enough, i have had terrible experience from salomon bindings and am hesitant to reccomend them. also, i think the sth are heavier than the z12 which kind of defeats the purpose of them since the only real advantage of them over the fks was supposedly the weight. also, i think it would be alot easier to find the fks for cheap since they only started making the sth 12s this year.
i seriously doubt this helps but you said something about how good i was throwing down, so i can do 7s and have tried cork 5s, i can do grabs with spins up to 5s, i can do all these tricks on around 50 ft tables or less, except for cork i tried on smaller jumps. on rails i just learned 270s on to rails today and i have been doing them on to boxes for a while, i can do switchups fs only and can do 450s off max both ways, can go unnatural just as good as natural on rails but im not good at unnatural spinning
