FKS Problem? Video included.

This may be a stupid question, but is this normal for an FKS heel? This is only my first set, so I'm not fully aquainted with thier mechanics. There is a video link below so you can see whats going on.

Where the arms meet the actual heelcup, there is a fair amount of play. Even when I'm clipped in, its still kind of loose and wobbly.

The problem is the nearest shop to me that can mount/repair these bindings is nearly 4 hours away. If there is anything I can do to fix this, it would be appreciated.

I forgot to mention, but the first 3 angles are of the problem heel, and as you can see, the next one is of the good heel. At the end, both heels are shown. You can see the difference in the heels.

same excat problem bro. its been going on for the last 20 days on them.. it get worse as time passes, but i dont even know how it happens.. probably hats switch landings

the round tubing on the arms is what keeps the heelpiece sturdy.  depending on how far you screw those arms in or out, it changes botht he forward pressure and length of boot it can accomodate.  try screwing it in or out and see if the tube moves with the rest of the arm.  if you don't want to do that, take it to a shop.  or, all in all, just let it be.  i have a few pairs that do that, but not nearly as much as yours.  i think they should still work.

Yeah, not as severe as in the video, but its still wobbly when my boot is in.

Yeah, ill give the wormscrews a few turns back and forth to see is it will tighten up or not.

Forward pressure is alright, so i cant adjust them too much.

ok. from what i can see, it looks like the internals are jacked a bit. if your comfortable with it, you can unscrew the din adjuster screw, and pull the springs and shit out, and have a look. it looks like theres not enough pressure on the cam, like it might have chipped or something. but ive never heard of that happening. how old are they? send me a pm if you need more help

^ Why wouldn't you - the FKS120s are a perfect binding for his type of skiing and his size?

FKS has NOTHING to do with your ability....They just do not pre-release=safe. And they always release in bad situations=safe. What skier wouldn't want safe bindings?

He's alright, and on top of it all, he did his skiing on a mountain. Cuz you know it's real weird when you video yourself skiing next to cows on some dink ass rail and dead jumping off tiny ass sheds. Just cuz you say at the beginning of the post that you're not trying to be a dick, doesn't mean you didn't accomplish that task

FKS 120 are 12 DIN.
Ive broken 2 pairs of Px12's.
Our hill has been shit. We have a 5 foot table- nothing you can really do on that.
I dont want hurt knees.

the arms of mine loosened over time and i started pre-releasing.  I gave the screws ontop of the arms a couple turns till it was tight again, put my boot in and made sure i could still kick it out.  You might have the same issue.

First of all, why the hell do you care?
Second, he wasn't that bad, he's pretty good at rails.

I'm sick of people saying that others who aren't absolutely fantastic on the snow can't have good gear.

It is not a huge deal, essentially the metal bushings for the adjustment screws are more worn on one heelpiece then the other, you may have to compensate the forward pressure because of this.

With the boot clamped into the binding the white tab should be lined up with the two small black lines on the binding. You can adjust this with the adjustment screws on either side, just make sure you turn each screw the same amount, if not the pressure on the binding will be thrown off.

Another care tip for FKS/turntables is to get yourself a spray can on good quality white grease, and every so often squirt some on the binding in and around the brake assembly/mounting point. This will help to lubricate the two metal plates that allow for the forward pressure adjustment, this helps keep dirt out and prevents the binding from sticking providing an even better release.

Bump

Mine started doing this exactly like in the video.  My forward pressure is set correctly. I noticed that there is a black plastic ring that sits up between the metal arms and the spring housing and that plastic ring is cracked on each side.  Maybe that is why its all wobbly?  Anyone know if this is going to affect the binding while clicked in?

I brought mint to my shop. They loosened the arms a fair bit, put some grease in there, then tightened them again. They are like new now.
