why do we need poles?

i was just wondering this, but why do we need poles? most people feel strange and cant balance with out them, but you should just be able to do everything the same, especially in the park. idk, i just thought it was weird

skiing without poles just isn't.......right. yah you might not need them in the park but you look way more stylie with poles for some reason. i think poles are what separates us from the snowlerbladers

really with todays shaped skis you don't need them, but back in the day when they were on skis it was to give yourself levrage to finish your turn, nowadays while theoretically they do that you don't need them to turn, maybe in powder but taht's it, otherwise we just use them as balance

poles allow you to connect your hands to the slope without bending over... that is a feeling of security and balance. i like my poles...8 years+ with iceUSA.

pole planting, it does help with balance, mouguls, pow, you name it, th only thing we dont need poles for skiing is hot chocolate, and come to think of it, that would be a fun thing to try...

Well if you actually skied(sorry to the people to the people who actualy ski but there didn't seem like there was a whole lot) you need poles to ineciate a turn in pow or on a scheey face some of u try skiing and you will firgre out why u need poles
