Noob question, lifters on AR6's

I searchbarred and read a bunch of threads on llifters, and would still appreciate some input from the more experienced park riders on ns
I've been riding hellbents and prophet 100's in the deep stuff so far this yr, but the last couple weeks have been park weather. So I mounted up my AR6's w some px12's without thinking of asking the shop to forget the lifters. After riding about a week on them, it feels like I'm rolling onto my edges too early (due to the wide stance I've gotten used to w big skis) and turning while switch seems a little catchy as well. Is it just because I have new edges and I should adjust my stance? or should I ditch the lifters? Any reason to leave them on? Input is appreciated.

i think taking the lifters off makes all the difference in the world. that's what i'd do if i were you.

you sound experienced, so there is no reason you should change your stancce. the ski should fit you... take the lifters off

I would definatly take the lifters off, especially if you're using them a lot in the park.

Experienced in the bc, not so much in the park. My AR6's are first boards less than 98mm in the waist I've ridden in 3 yrs. I'm trying to step up my park game, so I can hopefully bring some of that style into booters and natural features, plus my rail/box skills are sketch. So it seems like everyone thinks I should ditch the lifters, does anyone else leave them on their park skis for any reason?

well dude, if you can ditch them and it's not too much of a hassle, or wont cost money, i'd say go for it.
no lifters definitely provides a better feel for the park - but i mean, does that slight difference outweigh the hassle of taking them off?
your call.

yea bro i got a situation like yours.2 yrs ago i switched ski shops and i got ar5s and i forgot to say no lifters. i still ski em for like park/ urban with the lifters and i can truthfully say that i havent noticed any difference. i tried my cousins ar6's without lifters and i didnt see a difference. it used to bother me alot but i realized its not a huge deal. its kinda a pain to take em off to cuz theyll have to take your bindings off and all that.

you would have to get new screws because the ones used for the lifters would be too long and go right through the bottoms of your skis if u took the lifters off

Uh yeah, obviously I'll want to use different screws. I think I'm going to take them off, I don't really see any reason not to.

if they're park skis just take em off. They help carve and initiate turns better on groomers but your not doing that in the park or really care. You get a better feel for the ski and lower center of balance. Make sure to get shorter screws. As for the edges just detune them a bit. Park skis don't have to be nearly as sharp as your bc skis. I round mine under foot and detune the tips and tails a bit

Riding AR6's without lifters may feel more similar to riding Prophet 100's with lifters.

I know they are completely different skis, but this kid said he is used to the 100's. Carving in bounds on groomers on AR6's without lifters might feel more like the 100's with lifters as far as you're stance, turn initiation etc. no lifters on the 6's will make them ski like they are a bit wider on groomers.
