Bitching about flipping in ski equipment

I think people need to shut up about people flipping things. In so many threads everyones asking around, double checking if its being flipped or not. WHO GIVES A FUCK IF THEY ARE!! If you dont want to buy it THEN DONT! But if someone does want to then obviously they are happy with the price. And if the buyer is happy, and the seller is happy, then everything is ok because nobody cares what you think if you arent involved in the transaction. Im not saying Im promoting flipping and that everyone should do it, but I have nothing against it since it hurts no one. It gives people who missed the bargain a second chance to get it at a good price. Dont hate business. You cant get mad at someone earning money because they jumped on an opportunity, you were just too stupid to do it yourself. You had your chance to buy it on SAC and you missed it, get over it.

Half the time the kids whining about flipping aren't taking shipping and paypal fees into consideration. Its alot of nonsense over nothing. Flipping should be left to the mods and the buyers. None of those posts accomplish too much

Use the search bar, genius. I don't know how many times I have to say this, flipping is against the rules. It does not matter what you think, so don't bother arguing. It's against the rules, period, and you'll be banned for blatantly doing it. If it's an honest mistake we'll just delete the sale. This is not your website, go to craigslist if you want to flip things, but you're not wanted on this site if you do it here.

im sick of people bitching about everything in ski equipment. i cant remember reading a sale thread that didnt have "i can get those skis for $60" or "that price is rediculous." i remember when you could actually get reasonable cash for your gear. now its really turned into a last resort because people are so goddamn cheap.

unfortunately, JD is right. Really, i agree with the thread creator. Yet there are people who ruin it for everyone by flipping sales and not hooking up the buyer at all. I think if the buyer gets a good deal and both are happy, then who gives a shit. But, it is in the forum rules, so you gotta obide (sp?) by it. It sucks, but not much else you can do...

I completely agree with JD here. While Because this is a capitalist economy, conceivably you should be able to sell if both buyer and seller are happy, thats not the point. It's not meant to be like "O, I won these for free, I'll get banned if i don't sell them for free" it's just meant to keep the people who buy shit on ebay or sac for the sole purpose of making money in a community away. Everyone is supposed to be chill and hooking each other up, not taking advantage of each other, and flipping is taking advantage of NS. Charging a little extra for shipping and your work is ok but selling something picked up on SAC for double the price is outrageous, hook your skiing family up with the deal you scored on some sweet swag, don't exploit them because you got an Oakley over the top coat in Ozone for wicked cheap and you know it'll sell well. Newschoolers is a place to pass on sweet deals, craigslist is a place for flipping. JD has it right. O yea and use the searchbar, this has been heavily discussed.

It seems to me we have two very different conversations going here.
-Flipping is against the rules, period, its also really low. The ban is more than justified.
-You do not need to find every sick deal ever posted and suggest that the person is flipping. No you can't flip, but that doesn't mean people need to try and call everybody on it when most of the time they aren't.
Example.
A kid posts a legit sale, no flipped items, SAC or otherwise. Somebody goes "You got those off SAC" when its obvious that they are not being flipped. Say for example a pair of skis that may have been won in a contest, etc. In this case the person who called "flip" on a legit sale is the dick.
A pair of skis appear on SAC at 200$, say this ski would normally sell for 425$ new. A few days after they appear on SAC somebody is selling a pair of them for 400$. In this case it may be easy to prove that the item is being flipped, and if thats the case, ban their ass.

The whole SAC flipping thing doesnt bother me too much. What pissed me off is when i sell something from SAC that i bought people flip shit when the price is slightly higher then the SAC price. you need to consider that fact that there are shipping fee's that need to be covered.
