The first ever Golden Film Festival is set to debut at the Lyric on March 20th, 2008. Here is a chance to showcase local athletes and also the creative videographers behind the lens.
All film submissions due before March 10, 2008 with a certified check for $15 mailed to an address to be posted later on skiinggolden.com, or call Cliff at 439-8030 to submit.
Rules:
- Must be local footage, local people, and local amateur videographer.
- Films can cover any season and any topics related mountain culture.
- Local is considered south to Bugaboos, east to Field, and west to Rogers Pass.
- Must have content that relates the film to 2007-2008.
- Film must be under 6 minutes long.
Must submit two copies in DVD format per film submission including names of people in film, videographers, editors, film location, and a brief description of what the film is about.
Films will be judged based on artistic presentation, originality, and overall impression.

All entries will be viewed, and then short listed to 10 films for the under 19 event, and 10 films for the 19+ event. Short listed films will be played on the big screen at the Lyric and further judged by approx. 30 random judges in the crowd. Prizes will be handed out for top 3 films at each event.
The Golden Film Festival is intended to bring people together to showcase the lifestyles of our athletic and artistically talented community. The under 19 event is being organized as a youth-oriented project. With the Golden High school having a high quality media program, you can be sure to see some great films. Event proceeds will be going towards youth programs within our community.
