How fast is fast enough

I want ot start making some sequence shots, and i am looking for a new camera to do that. What i need to know is how many fps is needed for good sequence shots, most of the camera seem to be aroud 2 or 3 shots per seconds, is this enough? if you have made sequence shots before and they turned out please give me the model of you camera.

2 or 3 shots per second is good enough for a decent sequence, but something closer to 5 would be better. What really matters though, is how many seconds it can do. 3 fps is no good if it can only go 1 second.

most dslr's can take at least 45 continuously....but thats shooting in reg...if you want to shoot raw then its more like 10 shoots because the camera's got to be able to process the info and save it

pippins right. also, my dslr takes 3 fps, but you can buy others for a lot more $$$$ that shoot a lot higher fps. I have an olympus stylus point and shoot from years ago that takes 4 fps. or is it 5? I think it's 4..
