What skis with over 100 cm underfoot should I get?

Im looking to get some skis towards the end of this season that I will be putting touring bindings on and be using for skinning but also resort skiing. I want a ski that has at least a 100 cm underfoot that will be used for a lot for powder skiing but I still want something that is pretty solid at high speeds on hard pack as well. Ive been looking towards the line prophet 100 but I think I could go with something a little bigger and maybe a slight rocker. Suggestions?

at your place i'd either go with the 4frnt VCT (104 underfoot) whitch is very sick or either with the armada JP vs Julien(103 underfoot), armada are super light and got a normal camber but the tips are huge not to nose/tail-cut in powder. They are good for pow and park cause my friend has JP in park and they rock. I was ready to suggest you ARG cause i have a pair an they go well but for groomer also forget it ahah

Hmm. If you want 100 cm underfoot I suggest going to your local Ikea, picking up one of those free measuring tape things and then realize you fail at the metric system...

If you meant 100mm underfoot, then I would suggest Hellbents if you like the rocker

but next years seths look pretty prime for you if you want something a little wider and with a slight rocker. next years have a slight more rocker than this years and are 108 undefoot. I think the stiffness is coparable to this years which should be able to charge hard. Look at seth.

depends on the rocker...from what i've read up in NS an on...having a completely rockered ski and putting skins on might be counterproductive but i could be wrong about that...if I am then next season i'm putting some dukes on my hellbents..but they might be a bit too soft and floppy..

try the Karhu 130 or the Prophet 130s...pretty much the same ski..Prophets have early taper and have early rise...there's also EHP 190 zero camber or even the EHP 186 reverse cambered..slight rise in the tip and tail...

If you want an 08/09 ski then Don't by an 08/09 ski at the end of the season if you find them in a ski shop...mostly Resort ski shops...they'll be FULL price and you won't be skiing them till next season for the most part...unless you're going more north as the season ends...snowpacks become more unstable as the snow starts to melt and bc skinnin isn't reallly the best ...anyway good luck..i'm kinda looking at bc setup myself.

Putting skins on a rockered ski would be absolutely retarded and unproductive, think about it. Automatically, that rules out the new Seth's as they now come with a rocker, the Eric Pollard pro's, the Salomon Rocker and obviously the Hellbent. From what I've heard, the Rossignol Steeze charges like no other, just watch some of Sage's movie segments.

I would suggest the LINE bacon , Its a Eric Pollard signature ski .. its over 100mm under foot and it rips anything from the hard pack, to the park, to the pow and i have heard there fast. if your not into that i would suggest the LINE elizabeth www.lineskis.com

Not if i potentially want a ski that has a rocker in it. Clearly you lose significant surface area by using a rocker, which is vital for skinning, but im willing to sacrifice a little on the way up to have more fun on the way down.

why are some of you suggesting skis with the reason they can do park? who the hell goes in the park with touring bindings?

Get the Prophet 100 man. Great ski for everything. I've been skiing them for 7 days straight and I don't even want to touch my Chronics right now. (well mostly cuz we've been getting snow everyday for a week straight)

Moment Ruby is definitely what you're looking for.

110 waist, and holds an edge like no other on the hardpack, while the tips are still near unsinkable in powder.

So basically you have some factors,

All of the Line fatty skis supported by Pollard, like the Bacon, EP Pro, and the Elizabeth, are all way soft, which is good for powder, but not so good for ripppin big lines, they chatter and are unstable

However then you look at the Prophets, they are pretty stiff, and their "twin" is not that high, so if you go to ride switch, it will be a little harder cause of the stiff flex and low tail.

JP vs Julian: Sick ski, pretty soft, but I would rate this as a bit stiffer than the EP, Bacon, Elizabeth, but not as stiff as the Prophet.

4frnt VCT: Way sick, good flex that comprimises nothing. Sweet for switch landings, and it did have a more square tail for skins, which is nice.

**I personally just got steezes, and have a pair of Naxos on them. They have a great sidecut, 21m turning radius at 174cm. They rip on groomers, but have a fatty 110mm waist and 140-110-133. These skis are light, durable, steezy (of course) and switch-tastic (the tail is high and wide for that switch pow riding)

Well there's lots of other good skis out there, but I have Bacons and love mine so I'd check them out.
