Park City vs. Montana vs. Reno

So I am going to go to school in PC, Boze, or Reno next winter/spring semester.  I made a therad about this a while ago but didn't mention it was just for the semester and everyone was talking about stuff to do in the summer.  So I am pretty much just going to move to one of these places to ski every weekend,  I am pretty decent at big mountain but am bad at park but I do enjoy it and would like to get a lot better.  Any and all advice would be very nice.

Are you talking about college? Cause there is no college in park city, its in salt lake city.


But salt lake city is by far the best choice, but i am bias because i live in slc.

pretty much reno for park now and montana or utah for powder.
i would tell you different last year but every year the park gets smaller and smaller in pc.

i went to reno area and there is some sick parks and big mountain but they get "Sierra Cement" (although it was pretty light when i went there) so if you want the best powder in the world go to Park City
I'm not too sure about Montana, from what i hear it is pretty good
My guess is the parks won't be a big deal for you because all those areas have good ones
Id say Reno has some good night life too

except I think PC is making Kings much larger and better as i type this.... and I bet Jonesys re-vamp will follow. 
Don't come to Utah.  3.2 beer, bad skiing, bad parks, no snow, stupid people.
Go to Reno for sure.

just read my thread that is in my link, and ignore all the summer stuff and the best snow in world, cuz i just said it gets super light pow, because we just got some last week, but then i came to my senses and realized that light snow like that only happens once or twice a year, even though we do get a lot of pow days there just not always super light

sorry I ment Salt lake, So the word I'm getting is reno.  Does anyone actually go to school there.  Just wondering what its like and what the trip from school to a mountain is like.  Are there any buses or anything that run to the mountain?

Ya the reason it was light is cuz we get a "sierra cement" storm MAYBE once or twice a year at the most.
God i love how on NS one person will say something and EVERYONE will believe it.
well if you strictly want big mtn Bozeman has some pretty good stuff, and if your going to MSU, you can take a class there, where they just go in the backcountry all winter and stuff. Good place for that i guess.
Im from tahoe, and reno would be super fun too. We got some of the best backcountry around too. Notice how most backcountry in the films is Tahoe, BC, or AK. And i dont know where your from, but places like Alpines park could make you shit your pants if your not use to HUGE jumps.

the trip is only like 30 minutes to the closest resort, 45 to most others. there are some shuttle stuffs if you really need it, but just make friends with someone who goes a lot and youll have a ride everyday. also most kids just schedule it so you only have to go to school 2 days a week(its way easy out here haha) so that means 5 days riding every week

Uh, ya how much is a PC pass, I think its ATLEAST a 1000. I mean you could get a squaw pass (midweek) for less than that. I mean Alpine meadows AND norhstar, and boreal which has one of the better parks in tahoe is 100 for college students. Plus a ton of other resorts. After visiting SLC I was stoked i moved to reno/tahoe.

But yeah i would say come to reno, because this town is growing so much and the fact that you can get to a resort in under a half hour in some areas. We have a pretty solid backcountry setup too. Tahoes parks are progressing so much and getting so big. Its prolly cus i live here tho but i dont know. I enjoy it

i grew up in bozeman montana and it is definatly a sick place for skiing:
big sky and moonlight for steep and deep and park
bridger: great pow and sick local vibe


reno i applied too just didnt like the town however lake tahoe is the best place on earth

i go to college in slc and love it! best choice i made......so many awesome resorts so little time to ski

Haha, nobody brags as much about their skiing as kids in tahoe.  I'm sure it's good, but the only time I've had to tell someone to shut up about skiing is when they're from tahoe. 

Do a little research about each of the areas and see what there is that you enjoy.  I've only been to Reno once so I can't really give an opinion on it, but what I can tell you is that SLC and Bozeman are vastly different.  I feel like SLC might have a little more to offer as far as the outdoors goes (especially # of resorts), but Bozeman has really good backcountry, ice climbing, and winter mountaineering.

You would think that the snow is light in the sierras, until you move to Utah. Trust me, from experience.

Reno is better though. Def don't come to utah.

Depends on how you deal with boredom, Reno is going to be the least boring, outside of skiing. Montana usually skis earlier than the other two places, but is hella boring. Utah has no nightlife. I go to University of Nevada, Reno. It's pretty sick, we have some dope skiers here. A lot of pros come out of this area.

squaws park is sick right now...

They just re-did rivera's pipe this summer (dug it out) and now its a super-pipe they have 2 sick kicker lines a bunch of rails and the big park is under construction... Why would they (after spending the money to do that) close their park... and also why would they spend a week straight working on their park if they were gonna tear it down. As much sense as your make and as many supporting arguments as you bring i think your info might be wrong.
