Alright so for march break my fam is going on a ski trip, we haven't really done any research but we have done the Tremblant and Quebec thing and so were thinking Vermont. We did Sugarbush one year and it was great, but we've all become better skiers. We are in T.O. and don't want anything longer than 7 or 8 hrs driving. I ride park so i want a decent park but any places you guys would like to give an option to would be great.

stowe had a really sick park in december, and that was before they opened their big park, its really expensive there but it will be sick and if it snows it will be even sicker (good woods). Jay has also been very sick in the past for park though I haven't heard anything about it this year. Then there's all the southern resorts but I have no idea how they are doing, killy has been pretty sick in the past

stowe if u want to pay 74 bucks to ski, and thats weekdays i think, but its a lot, tho its the best...
   -stowe gets packed, its good for park, most other shit gets tracked out FAST, esp on weekends

jay and mad river if ur just riding

bolton if u want to save money on tickets

mount snow if u want a multitude of features

stratton also has a really really nice park, terribly underrated, so much fun

killington's park is supposed to be insane this year, and it's probably good for the whole family, maybe a bit crowded tho.  stratton and okemo are good too.

Jay  there park is not bad they have a 40 and a 60 foot jump which are nice and a couple nice rails

It depends on how long you're going for.  If you're there for a week, I'd get a house somewhere around Stowe.  That'll give you Stowe, Smuggs, Mad River, Sugarbush, and Jay all within a descent driving distance.  Jay's sick and you'll fall in love w/all the snow, but I don't know about their park.

A couple notes on Mount Snow, Stratton, and Killington.  I love skiing at those places, but if you hate the asshole American stereotype, skip them.   Those places are covered in people from Jersey, NY, CT, and Mass.  It's not to say that they all fit the stereotype, but a few bad apples can really bum your day.

yeah like 2 hours and a bit from portland. i was up there last weekend cause my brother goes to colby. it was pretty nice. i also went to saddleback which i loved, such a chill mountain, and they have a rowboat with a rail on the keel in the park and a canoe rail too. so gnar

killy's park is pretty decent and the snow has been really nice so its good skiing for your family too
biggest hit is like 35-40 at most so be ready for that, rails are pretty nice, and the pipe seems to be getting better shape but is still all ice as expected

sugarbush- terrain and woods,you gotta know where your going though..there is two mountains with a shit ton of terrian. a lot of headie stashes to find like cliffs,pillows, and log lines...and pow doesn't get track out fast compared to jay, stowe or smuggs 

the terrain parks are dope. there is  three parks and a bunch of rails and jib made by Superparx (northstar based company).  take them a little bit to get there all there parks up. there is a good jump line in expert park right now. Good vibes...there is a lot of park skiers over boarders

they blow a lot of  man made snow for northern vermont mountains. also, not too many bunk lifts, a lot high speed quads

loon has the best park in the east by far now...4 pack of 40-55 footers.

For park, Mt Snow...

But honestly, you live in Toronto and ski MSLM and Blue usually I am assuming, so you might as well get some real skiing in and just go to Jay for the week.

MSLM and Blue Mountains park is freaking up there man.

Man, I've got to agree with Adam here... The stereotypical New Yorker/Mass-hole is most commonly found at those places.

Obviously not all who ride there are numb-skulled idiots, but there are surely a good number around.

(Antadam's from Mass, btw)

I do still love Killington, as well.

well i love stratton and staying at stratton gives you okemo and mt snow all withy in 20 minutes.  i find that the southern vt resorts have had better parks then the northern vt mountains.  i am just guessing here but i would say it is cause southern vt has alot of snowmaking where north vt depends more on natural just a guess. i doug tremblant a lot though and would go back but it is like 12 hours for me.. other options i love loon and waterville in NH and sunday river and sugarloaf in maine. i also always want to check out Le Massif but it is to far for me.


my advice thoug is go to tahoe the money youll spen in gas driving 8 hours these days you might as well fly out west. and hit some good shit

whre was the hassle? just out of curiosity.  i go out west like twice a year and never have any hassle, hit the airport pick up the rental and on my way.  check in get groceries(ie beer)  go skiing the next day.  i find spending eight hours in a car mor eof a hassle.   bu tthat is just me.


where did you go and what problems did you incur?

^ well planning accommodation and everything. We got to Denver and had to wait a while for our luggae and then had to pick up our car which took a lot longer than expected. We had landed while in a snow storm and driving to our hotel place near beaver creak took a lot longer then expected, its a full day trip...and we were smart about it cause we were flying from buffalo instead of Pearson(like half the price, ridiculous) and went over the boarder the night before and stayed at the Hilton there. Then on the way back some of our luggage got lost thought the airline so it took more time. While there though i will always remember it, so sunny everyday, so amazing, just the traveling to and fro.
