I have a pair of falbello krypton pros and I was wondering how much a difference AT boots would make for skinning.

The walking mode and rubber sole are way nicer, but you can do it in regular boots as well, especially if you don't have the cash to shell out for more $600 or more boots.

Nah, your current boots will be fine. AT boots are a bit lighter, and I think the forward lean or ability to put them in walk mode makes them a little better, but unless you're touring for miles at a time I don't think they' necessary at all. But, if you're interested you can get AT boots that will also work with your regular bindings as well.

If your boots are really comfortable then it probably doesn't matter, but AT boots are super soft when you put them into the walk mode so it's much easier to skin with them on. The key is to find a somewhat soft comfortable boot that you don't mind walking or skinning all day in

they help a good amount if you are doing a longer tour but for just doing short trecks alpine boots work ok...I have been in a tecnica with a duke and although it was not the lightest set up I have been able to keep up with others who have full a/t setups...

an advantage to at boots is the rubber sole because when you are goin over rocks and sketcy conditions its nice to have something that has some good stabilityÂ
overall we all know that we tour for the turns down do get something that is a beast coming down

Basically this comes down to how comfortable you want to be while hiking or touring. I have AT boots that fit into alpine bindings and they work great in the resort when you put it into ski mode. Some people think you lose performance but Garmont makes several models that offer great perfomance while still having the option of the walk mode (endorphins). Also with the garmonts and maybe other touring boots they give you the option of locking into an upright stance with no lean that can be utilized while skinning. Great options out there that you should consider.
