Replying to Discussion: Back Country
Not talking shit on any movies, ski areas, or anything I'm just bored at work haha. But on to the discussion. So I have been freeskiing probably for a good 4 season's now. My first movies that got me into the whole scene were ready fire aim, 1242, focused, and so on. But ever scince then I just can't get down with the BC. A full video part of backcountry booters with slow threes and sloppy right side tricks into powder with an occasional straight slide on a hand rail just doesn't do it for me. And if it is a full part of just back country lines and cliffs, guaranteed it's getting fast forwarded through. I'm from a small hill 40 minutes from the city of pittsburgh, where I reside. I grew up on sketchilly set up rails, tables never bigger than 50 feet, and maybe 1 or 2 days a year i get to ski a nice layer of powder. Hell, up untill about last season EVERYTHING we had was shitty, though now 7 Springs is spending mad loot to compete with places like big boulder and ski roundtop (Other pennsylvania ski resorts), so these past two seasons have been rediculous. But in terms of BC, i just can't relate, atall. I am never going to be hitting backountry hits bigger than 60 feet unless I get sponsored or something, and heli skiing in alaska just isn't an option for me. I dunno, I just can't relate to newer movies that are coming out that are specifically geared towards powder skiing and bc booters. I would kill to do it, but i hate watching it. I would love to see more movies like wicked now adays. Anyone feel me on this one?
