San Diego has the worst school system ever. Some serious bullshit...

So my good friend got sent to San Diego to live with his dad because he wasn't succeeding in the Vermont school system and his mom was sick of dealing with it. On the second day there he gives me a call telling me about how unbelievably strict they were - they can search your pockets, backpack, even your car for no reason at all. Possession of a lighter is grounds for a week suspension... shit is rough.
So he's doing really well, getting straight A's for the first time, doing his homework, all that. He goes out on one of his lunch breaks to smoke a cigarette with these three girls and they start smoking pot and ask him if he wants some. He told them no, that he had no problem with it after school but he didn't want to fuck up his second chance at high school by doing it on school property. They finish and ask him to bum them another bowl because they were out, so he gives them a hit each, finishes his cigarette and starts heading in.
Right then a teacher busts out and gets super pissed, telling my friend to wait in the office. He stops by the bathroom on the way and flushes all his shit to be safe, and goes to the office. The teacher tells him that a cigarette is a five day suspension, but because he's from VT and "they might have different lifestyles there" he'd cut it to two days. Chill. My friend exits. The girls come in and apparently claim they had nothing to do with it and they were just smoking cigarettes when he came out and broke out marijuana. Three of them, one of my friend, he's from out-of-state... my friend got expelled from the high school and every other high school in San Diego (over 100 of the them) on the spot and they got off with a week suspension for the cigarettes. I mean I'm stoked because it means my friend is coming back to VT, but what the FUCK?
San Diego is supposedly the third best school system in the nation, seems to me because they value that little record higher than the success of their students. Jesus.

That really sucks for your friend. All the school's I've been too though it's been pretty standard that if you get got smoking pot, you're out. Of course it's bullshit that he got caught just for being nice and he wasn't even smoking.
All of my friends who dealt or had fake ID's in high school would never sell or pull for girls unless they knew them really well. It sounds really sexist, but it's actually a pretty safe bet.
I think the moral of the story is just fuck southern California. Hope your friend is happy back in Vermont.

Weird, I just kinda figured the rest of the nation was like VT... getting caught smoking pot here is like "Don't do that again, you little fuck" and you might get a suspension, so explusion on the first offense seems outrageous to me. In fact I don't think I've ever heard of a kid getting expelled for pot here. Weird...

yeah my school is kinda like that but not really, we have a corner for kids to go smoke cigs at, alot of kids smoke weed there too, idunno why its really not out of site at all. We have dogs going through parking lots, everyday. We have this group of freshman that go to the office at teh first rumor they hear. One time my friends were fucking with me and i hadnt been at school for a while so they thought it would be funny to tell everyone i was on a meth binge, not even an hour after being in class i get called out into the vp's office for like a full on intervention.Then i got pwned cus i htought if i didnt buy a parking pass they couldnt search me, but i guess it doesnt even matter because when i said no to the search the cop flipped shit and started threatening me so i just left cus he was on a bike and i was in my car, Then i got suspended for a week and got my car searched....... after i cleaned it

that will seriously fuck up your life to get kicked out of every school there.
Even if you were smoking weed, why the fuck would it do them any good to expel you? That makes no sense at all, they should at least give you a warning and shit if anything, not just kick you out and make sure you can't get educated at all in the whole fucking state at a public school.

Our english teacher told us he mad a friend in highschool that could make himself vomit and that he would do it in the high ways before school and stuff. So one day he dicided to throw up one a girl in his math class so he at 3 trays of lunch and a whole thing of epilac syrup and when math started he got up and barfed all over the girl and only got a detention.

I got the full story tonight when he got back and I guess the expulsion was because the bitches told the principal that Kevin gave them weed, and even though he only gave it to them to be nice, they saw it as distribution on school property. Unbelievable cunts...

Definitely dude, Eric's in college but I'm definitely down for something and I'm sure Kevin is.
And to all the kids who know him you have to hear the full story from him directly, it's so much better than this shorthand one. Basics are all the same but I didn't know a lot of the details that make it a pretty epic adventure, he almost got busted about eighteen times before he actually did.

The amount of hot girls and over crowded waves makes SD worth it. I am sure that his parents are pumped that they moved across the country to better his future, then his dumbass fucks it up. Doesn't he have any respect for them and what they did. Maybe don't bring weed to school and give it to random dumb bitches? It is almost hard to be that stupid. But I am sure later life will figure out a path for him that ends in mediocrity and a shitty job, then he will blame the SD school system and not his own self. Hahaha San Diego having a good schoo system?! Thats rich. My mom lived in San Diego when she was growing up. Even back then the school system was so bad they put her in a private school (that they couldn't afford) just to stay away from the public schools. California schools are some of the worst in the nation....I wonder why...

Anecdotal evidence much? They probably put your mom in a private school so that she wouldn't end up pregnant. California schools - on average - are much better than most other states. Obviously they are horrible ones, but there are good ones too. I went to one, it wasn't great, but it got me into a decent school. To the guys saying Vermont's schools are better, yea i am sure they are. Getting taught in some farmhouse about how to brew moonshine and phonetical spelling will be useful for your later life. No, really, for you guys it will be. Â

Can't quote right now for some reason, but here you go.
First of all, his parents didn't do shit. His mom sent him away to live with
his dad who already lived in San Diego, and in fact still lives in San
Diego. My friend even had to pay for the ticket both ways. Oh, he
wouldn't have even had the pot at school had his dad allowed him to go
out the past two nights (and use it) even though his homework was
done... but he didn't because despite straight A's and a newfound
dedication to doing well in school his dad still didn't think it was OK
for him to have fun on weekends.
Oh, and nice work stereotyping an entire state in your next post. I'm not going to get defensive over it because it's so stupid there's no need to prove you wrong, but I guarantee you 90% of the kids who graduate from at least my part of the state are twice as smart as you'll ever be. Vermont has some of the best education in the country.
