Hey guys, I recently converted to skiing. I used to have heroes like Shaun White and Jeremy Jones; but now I have heroes like Jon Olsson and T-Hall. Anybody got some tips for me? I used to ski from 4yrs old to 9. I've gone about 13 times this winter. I could use some tips and tricks of the trade if anyones got em.

i went from skiing to snowboarding to skiing again and really what you need to do is find some gear that fits your needs and just learn how to ski again wont take that long to get the hang of it but i might take a while to build skill and confidence to start doing things than going frenchfries down the mountain haha

ya, i can't explain it. I've been going to warren miller films my whole life, but for some reason. Playground just changed my life. It inspired me. so now I have the new PE's from K2, 07 Salomon foil boot and Salomon Z10 bindings. Skiing is so much fun

is it a pretty hard switch back? just out of curiosity, like not landing tricks or anything, but just doing groomers?

its hard for me to get my inside edge into the snow....spinning is easier though cause you have way more control of your legs....also you feel lighter in the air

YES. Use it, it has the answer to most questions you will ask on this site, and make sure you use it so you dont get flamed by assholes who think they are cool, like me.

i just made that conversion this season too after 10+ years of snowboarding. but never really skied before. I rollerbladed (aggressive in line) so grinds all came natural to me. I'm on my 12th night out and just landed my first 360. it took me awhile to learn to roll from edge to edge. I just pizza and frenched fried for about half the first run then rode parallel the rest of the way down, that was my lesson. I've fallen alot since then, and got right back up (gotta learn to keep going). was doing tricks in the park on my 2nd day, could slide real well stance-wise, but landing switch (backwards) was difficult for me. search for "riding fakie" i think is what i said or just click my name and look at my threads it'll be in there. Got lots of good advice on how to go down the hill backwards..... switch. Now i ride switch down entire trails at pretty fast speeds. This site has been pretty helpful, don't get discouraged, and use the search tool for questions already asked
